UN & EU Inspect ECOMOG Base in Lungi; Satisfactory Inspection; Deployment of Foreign Forces in Sierra Leone as Democracy Restoration Imminent

Quick Summary

The optimism for the imminent restoration of democracy in Sierra Leone is rising daily following the inspection of the ECOWAS Logistics Depot in Lungi by the UN and the EU.

The doubting Musus and Musas will soon get the shock of their lives. It may happen in the not-too-distant future, in the aftermath of the inspection of the ECOMOG Base in Lungi by observers from the United Nations UN and the European Union EU. (Photo: UN Reps at ECOWAS Depot in Lungi).

The inspections took place on Monday and Tuesday, September 7 and 8, 2026. First to conduct the inspection were the representatives of the UN System in Sierra Leone on Monday, who visited the ECOWAS Logistics Depot ELD.

ECOWAS statement stated: “The visit followed an engagement through the Office of the ECOWAS Resident Representative in Sierra Leone. It was intended to familiarise the representatives with the Depot’s facilities and capabilities and explore potential areas of cooperation. (Photos: Visits of the UN and EU reps).

“The delegation comprising Mr Angjelin Mingu, Head of Supply Chain Unit, World Food Programme WFP Sierra Leone, and Ms Ann Touray of the United Nations Development Programme UNDP was received by the Commander, ELD Navy Captain IJ Akpa.

“The visitors were briefed on the mandate, facilities, and evolving operational supporting role of the Depot as an ECOWAS regional logistics capability supporting peace, support operations, humanitarian assistance, emergency response and other mandated regional requirements,” the UN statement ended.

The second visit included the EU in Sierra Leone, with representatives from the German Embassy and the French Ambassador for Guinea and Sierra Leone. The inspection took place on Tuesday and was conducted on the margins of the ECOWAS Summit in July 2026. (Photos: ECOWAS Depot Commander Captain Akpa during Lungi visits).

According to the EU delegation, it was an impressive facility. The inspection of the Depot was done by the Commander of the Nigerian Navy, Captain IJ Akpa, accompanied by Mr Funsho Ibrahim, Political Advisor of the ECOWAS representation in Sierra Leone.

A brief EU statement said: “The Managing Director of PROTEC Security, Mr Joseph Skeff, presented the facility, the achievements in setting it up and the potential for full use and development. The EU is a committed partner of ECOWAS–CEDEAO in supporting the regional security agenda.”

The impression of the UN and EU inspectors following the two visits to the ECOWAS Logistics Depot has increased the satisfaction and happiness among Sierra Leoneans, especially the voters of the 2023 elections whose priceless votes were stolen by Maada Bio. (Photos: ECOWAS Chairman President Bassirou Faye of Senegal posed with Maada Bio, right, and President-elect Dr Samura Kamara).

Had it not been for the timely and gracious intervention of the international community to resolve the electoral impasse in Sierra Leone, which led to the emergence of the Agreement for National Unity, which led to the tripartite investigations, which led to the 80 plus 4 plus 1 recommendations, leading to the restoration of democracy, the 2023 voters would have lost the EJ fight.

Today, patriotic Sierra Leoneans, led by the president-elect Dr Samura Kamara, are breathing a sigh of relief for the progress made by the global partners. However, the electoral criminals machinated by the illegal president Bio and accomplices in the APC leadership are fuming with rage.

The bad political class in Sierra Leone, comprising the SLPP party and the current crop of the APC party, are absolutely scared that the development partners are ready to kick them out of power peacefully or forcefully, as they deem it fit.

As for the suffering citizens, the news of the inspection of the Lungi ECOMOG Base this week by the UN and EU has given them more hope than ever before for the return of freedom and democracy in Sierra Leone. The people say thank you to global partners.

UN Appearance Means Zero; The Bios’ Illegality Remains at the UN; Brutes Like Gaddafi Spoke at the UN; Next Minute He was Killed; Sierra Leoneans, Don’t Worry

The United Nations is designed to always allow every Jack and Jill in its midst; dictators, tyrants, despots, killers, evil forces, often attend, but their hatred & illegitimacy still remain. Bloodthirsty and illegal President Julius Maada Bio and his mob-justice wife, Fatima Jabbe Bio, are classic examples of dictators known to member states of the United Nations and the world. But as the UN never bans tyrants, the Bios can still appear, but it makes no difference at all. Honest history has taught us one salient fact about attendees at the United Nations General Assembly. Not everyone who attends or addresses the UN General Assembly summit is loved or recognised as legitimate, democratic or a decent human being. Despite the immense freedom to attend the UN, many world leaders are reluctant to appear at the UN summit in New York for security reasons, mainly. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Uganda, President Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong-Un of North Korea are examples.

Marathon Race Ends Soon: New ECOWAS President General Diop from Senegal Takes Over from Gambian Traitor Touray; Real Work Began Yesterday

The real work of the newly refreshed Economic Community of West African States ECOWAS has commenced following the official handing over yesterday in Abuja. It was a milestone for West Africans and the world yesterday to witness the handover of power from the Gambian traitor, Dr Omar Alieu Touray, to General Birame Diop at the new ECOWAS Commission Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria. The Commission held the formal welcome and send-off ceremony for incoming and outgoing statutory appointees and Heads of ECOWAS Institutions, following the completion of the former leadership’s four-year tenure. It was during the historic event that General Birame DIOP of Senegal officially assumed office as the new President of the ECOWAS Commission, amid applause, succeeding Dr Omar Alieu Touray of The Gambia. Since President Bassirou Faye of Senegal succeeded the useless, unfit, and illegal Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio as ECOWAS chair on July 19, 2026, in Lungi, Sierra Leone, very little has been done to move the rejuvenated ECOWAS forward.
