Sierra Leone listeners were left flabbergasted when they heard the popular radio broadcaster, Mr Amadu Lamarana Bah, insisting on his Truth Media TM that the corrupt Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone ECSL/SLPP has posted the 2023 election results on its website. Incredible for Mr Lamarana Bah to show classlessness in broadcast journalism. Even when Mr Ibrahim Kemoh Sesay took advantage of his error to tell him, ‘No, the 2023 Election Result is not on the ECSL website ‘, the classless Lamarana Bah persisted in ignorance or pretence.

What a shame! What a turnoff and what a blunder, Mr Lamarana Bah arrogantly went on to challenge the fearless politician Kemoh Sesay to Google the ECSL website to prove his point. That singular blunder by Lamarana Bah, done either ignorantly or by pretence, exhibits one salient fact, i.e. Lamarana is not truthful to his conscience. As a famous broadcast journalist, it is incumbent upon him to know the facts at his fingertips. Kemoh Sesay tried to teach, but Lamarana refused to learn.

The majority of people in Sierra Leone are suffering at the moment due to the illegality of Julius Maada Bio’s maladministration. But that does not mean the people are fools to be fooled by fools like Lamarana Bah. All Lamarana can do now is to apologise publicly for his faux pas, as to err is human. Error is normal in humanity, but to apologise is pure class.

Lamarana Bah is a fine broadcaster, speaks well, has commanding oratory skills, but this latest TM programme with Mr Kemoh Sesay was a monumental mistake that exposes Lamarana’s unprofessionalism. He knows quite well that ECSL did not have the 2023 election results on its website. But he pretended simply to satisfy his paymaster, Maada Bio. (Photo: The Truth Media poster).

Well done, Mr Kemoh Sesay, for exposing the sell-out media in Sierra Leone. Most of the media houses in the country are a disgrace, enemies of the ethics of journalism, a shameful bunch of so-called media gurus who have sold their birthright for a pittance. These fakers and crackers in the media have betrayed Sierra Leone’s democracy for cocaine cash.

Even when Kemoh Sesay tried to educate Lamarana that the President-elect, Dr Samura Kamara, has his own 2023 election results to authenticate his victory and the incumbent, Maada Bio, did not show his winning, Lamarana Bah was still pretending that he did not value tripartite. Hear Lamarana: “I have interviewed APC officials like Kaifala Marah, who co-chaired Tripartite, and others who said, ‘Let’s move on’.

Spots on Mr Kemoh Sesay, who said: “These APC guys are rogues”, putting some sense into Lamarana’s head. Lamarana Bah reduced his respectability when he confronted Kemoh Sesay that the tripartite did not say ‘Power will be handed over to Dr Samura’. In 2011, when Editor Abu Shaw was editing the Awareness Times newspaper in Freetown, he met with young budding journalist Lamarana Bah and praised him, and urged him to keep it up. Indeed, Lamarana Bah has done well so far. But the Monday, September 14, 2026 interview with Kemoh Sesay did not promote Lamarana Bah, but it destroyed some of his good image.

A humble apology from Amadu Lamarana for the faux pas will mend minds, but it should be done as soon as possible, while the iron is hot. Today, the 2023 electorate will never forget or forgive anyone, high or low, who deliberately undermines the people’s mandate from the June 24, 2023 elections. Voters’ awareness of politics is very high nowadays.

Soon, when President-elect Dr Samura Kamara is sworn in as the next President of Sierra Leone after winning the 2023 elections, Sierra Leone will be a different place. Peace, unity, justice, development, etc., will take over, and all Sierra Leoneans, regardless of tribe, region, or political affiliation, will benefit. The fake media shall be cleaned up too.
