The legality of the investigative tripartite committee is significant for any outcome that the committee might arrive at, at the end of the investigations within the six-month time frame slated in the communique. It is clear that the illegal SLPP regime is banking on the flimsy excuse that the APC did not file a petition in court on time against the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone ECSL for the fraudulent June 24, 2023 elections. APC and every sane individual know that the Supreme Court is pure SLPP and the SLPP is the Supreme Court in disguise. No equal rights and justice can be attained from this corrupt Supreme Court. It is therefore no surprise that the APC party did not waste their time to petition the June elections because the outcome is an open secret. According to the SLPP regime, the fact that the main opposition APC party had failed to present its petition against the ECSL within the stipulated one-week ECSL timetable, indicates that the APC party has lost its legitimacy to petition the June 24 election. That is why the participants in the Dialogue in Freetown thought it wise to form the investigative committee, which has the same powers as the courts to adjudicate the electoral mishap on June 24.

As the formation of the three-cross-party committee nears completion, it is necessary for Sierra Leoneans who still have doubts about the Communique and by extension the Investigation Committee should know that the Committee has the same powers as any courts in Sierra Leone. The signatories of the Communique that produced the Cross-Party Investigations Committee are all bound to respect the conclusion of the committee as highlighted in the phrase ‘All Recommendations Should Be Actionable and Implementable’. Therefore, those who say Maada Bio would not agree to the recommendations, are living in Cloud Cuckoo Land.

Since the end of the Dialogue that produced the Communique that resulted in the formation of the three-party committee, many Sierra Leoneans have different views about the process of the electoral investigations. Some are hopeful of a positive outcome while others feel pessimistic about the outcome of the entire SLPP/APC Dialogue. No one should underestimate the powers of the Investigative Committee which will comprise 24 representatives. That is eight members from the SLPP party, eight from the APC and eight from the international community who will probe the stolen June 24 elections in full and then make recommendations.

Many doubting Thomases, ostensibly campaigners for Maada Bio’s 2028 agenda, do not know the powers vested in the Communique recently signed by SLPP and APC leaders and endorsed by the international community namely the African Union, ECOWAS, EU, UK, US etc. Undoubtedly, many SLPP insiders including Maada Bio himself are now belatedly aware of how powerful and legally binding document the Communique is. The three cross-party formation i.e. SLPP, APC, and International Community shows the seriousness of the three signatures that initiated the impending Committee.

The Committee comprising 8 members from the SLPP, 8 from the APC, and 8 from the global partners will start work very soon to look into the fraudulent June 24, 2023, general and presidential elections. Political observers believe the Communique has the same powers as any court in Sierra Leone to adjudicate the electoral process. That is the majority of Sierra Leoneans are hopeful that a Re-Run is Imminent. So for doubters and APC traitors like Sidi Yahya Tunis to say ‘It’s all over is traitorous. Those thinking about 2028 are the real enemies of Sierra Leone.
