SOS Appeal by Global Rapid Hunt Unit for the Immediate Release of Social Media Bloggers Mombasa, Red4Red & Singer Zainab Sheriff
Quick Summary
Another humanitarian appeal has been launched by the Global Rapid Hunt Unit for the immediate release of social media activists and the singer.
After the release of the social media activist and APC party PRO Bo District, Mr Mohamed Moriba, the Global Rapid Hunt Unit is continuing to appeal to the judiciary to set free the remaining social media bloggers from detention. (Photo: Singer Zainab Sheriff is suffering in prison).
The names in question are social media activists nicknamed Mombasa and Red4Red. These patriotic citizens have been suffering behind bars for many months now without any justification. Their freedom at this point will be more significant following Mr Moriba’s release on Friday June 26, 2026.
The other prominent name being advocated for by the Global Rapid Hunt Unit is the singer and artist Madam Zainab Sheriff. Speaking yesterday with the Rapid Hunt CEO, Alhaji MS Bangura, he reiterated his solemn appeal for the release of all three warriors. (Photos: Zainab Sheriff is sick in prison. Thanking the various stakeholders who assisted in the freedom of media blogger Mr Mohamed Moriba on Friday, June 26, Admiral MS Bangura said the call for the release of Mr Mombasa, Mr Red4Red and artist Zainab Sheriff should be a matter of urgency. Mombasa and Red4Red preached for Electoral Justice and were arrested. Zainab Sheriff cursed anyone stealing elections to be killed, and she was arrested.
“These three activists have suffered more than enough in prison. I think it is time for the SLPP government to free them. Global Rapid Hunt Unit is making this SOS plea for Mombasa, Red4Red and Madam Zainab Sheriff to gain freedom now,” Admiral MS Bangura, based in Germany, noted.
The three patriotic Sierra Leoneans were arrested and detained because of expressing their views, which the SLPP regime deemed inciting and insulting. Actually, they were simply exercising their freedom of speech, but under the Bio regime, freedom of expression is an offence.
The Global Rapid Hunt Unit has always been at the forefront of assisting suffering Sierra Leoneans inside and outside the country. Recently, Rapid Hunt officials organised a meeting in Kenema and met with Islamic leaders to ask for prayers for Mohamed Moriba. A few days later, God answered the prayers. “We will not relent until all 2023 freedom fighters are released from Pademba Road Prison,” MS Bangura vowed.
