Dear Sir,
Open Letter to Prime Minister Starmer and the People of the UK on the Implementation of the Agreement of National Unity ANU Tripartite Recommendations
Prime Minister, let me, on behalf of Sierra Leoneans and on my own behalf, extend to you and the people of the United Kingdom warm greetings. Sierra Leoneans, in many ways, appreciate the long-lasting bilateral relationship that has existed between our peoples.
Sierra Leone deeply appreciates the invaluable time and effort the United Kingdom has put into helping Sierra Leone in the past, especially in ending the rebel war and in restoring constitutional order and good governance when democracy was challenged.
Here we are again, with the flagrant disregard of constitutional order as the erstwhile despotic SLPP regime of Julius Maada Bio blatantly stole the people’s mandate in the June 24, 2023, elections, thereby attracting national and international condemnation. (Photo: Maada Bio).

Sierra Leoneans are still upset that the corrupt Electoral Commissioner for Sierra Leone, ECSL Mohamed Konneh, robbed the 2023 voters by declaring the incumbent Maada Bio the winner, thereby denying the people’s choice, Dr Samura Kamara, his rightful victory.
The people of Sierra Leone appreciate the countless efforts and incredible contributions the global partners have made in the Agreement of National Unity ANU peace talks, which culminated in the Tripartite Recommendations.
Sequel to the above, the majority of Sierra Leoneans who voted in 2023 are looking forward to the instantaneous implementation of the 84 + 1 Tripartite recommendations. And Britain, as head of the Commonwealth, is expected to take the lead in this direction.
People of Sierra Leone respectfully urge the Moral Guarantors to do the right thing and follow through with the full implementation as enshrined in ANU’s Terms of Reference TOR, a reminder of Resolution 3 of TOR, which is implementable and accountable.
The people of Sierra Leone treasure this relationship, and we are looking forward to the British government’s continued pivotal role in ending the democratic siege in Sierra Leone. Britain should help bring this problem to its logical conclusion and restore constitutional order.

Yours faithfully,
Saidu Alimamy Kamara
