September 11 Protest is the Best and Last Chance for Sierra Leoneans to Restore Democratic Rule
Quick Summary
The momentum is gathering pace as Sierra Leoneans get ready to demonstrate against the Bio tyranny & for the restoration of democratic rule.
Never in the history of Sierra Leone’s fragile democracy have citizens expressed determination to stand up to protect their democratic rights and duties. Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad are presently gearing up for this historic protest against the undemocratic dispensation of the SLPP regime of Julius Maada Bio. The Monday, September 11, 2023 protest is particularly significant because of the fraudulent general and presidential elections on June 24, 2023, which the so-called President Bio stole from the people.
And now, the people want their votes respected and their electoral mandates restored without delay. Many previous demonstrations by Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad came about because of rampant corruption human rights abuses, bad governance, and so on. However, the September 11 planned protest has generated public interest due to the broad daylight robbery committed by the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone ECSL led by the criminal Chairman Mohamed Kenewui Konneh during the June 24 elections.
The ECSL crook had the nerve to wrongly declare his boss Maada Bio as the victor by stealing the people’s mandate. The Bio presidency had long since laid the groundwork for bad governance since April 4, 2018, when Maada Bio succeeded President Ernest Koroma of the APC government. It is shameful how the SLPP government has systematically destroyed and continues to destroy the peace, unity, democracy, and human rights in Sierra Leone. Not to mention the socio-economic bastardisation and hardship coupled with the extra-judicial killings by Bio’s state security. But the obstinacy of Maada Bio to mellow down and do the right things is far-fetched to the detriment of peace-loving Sierra Leoneans. Consequently, Sierra Leoneans have had enough of the nonsense and have now decided to take their country back by any means necessary. The September 11 protest is the next solution and best opportunity left to free Sierra Leone from the Paopa claws of Maada Bio as early as possible. The protest will make Sierra Leoneans restore democracy quickly rather than wait any longer.
Endorsed by the country’s most popular social media activist King Adebayor based in Holland, the idea of the impending September 11 demonstration came from the people in Sierra Leone who had requested King Adebayor to choose a date. And September 11 date was chosen by King Adebayor and he and other active social media activists in and outside the country popularised it in their daily audio around the world. The necessity of making the September 11 protest succeed is paramount as it would help free Sierra Leone from Bio’s claws as quickly as possible.
“Something must be done. The idiots, who are persistently opposing demonstrations by saying that people would lose their lives if they protested, are the real enemies of the country. Sierra Leoneans must rise up and come out in Chinese numbers to demonstrate on September 11. The global partners are doing their own parts to punish the Bio regime. We urged all our brothers and sisters and friends in Sierra Leone to rise up,” a trader in of Freetown said.
