Ya Wulay had just returned home after enjoying the 250^th Independence Day fireworks on July 4th with her only daughter, Rabiatu, and grandchildren when disaster struck. Ya Wulay went upstairs and changed her clothes. She then came downstairs to help wash the dishes. (Photo: Late Ya Wulay, RIP).

But her daughter Rabiatu insisted she would do it alone. According to Mr Sesay, his elder sister, Ya Wulay, sat down to watch her daughter clean. Immediately, her mum, Ya Wulay, complained to her daughter of feeling unwell and asked Rabiatu to call emergency 911.

Mr Sesay explained last night: “The emergency services arrived immediately and took her to the nearby Largo Hospital, Maryland. “While Rabiatu was busy filling out the hospital documentation, the medical services came out of the outpatient and informed her daughter that her mum was not responsive to CPR. She was later pronounced dead in the early hours of yesterday morning,” Mr Sesay disclosed.

Shock engulfed the daughter, Rabiatu, as she could not believe how quickly she had lost her lovely mum, Ya Wulay. The pathetic news hit the Sesay family too hard. Aunty Kadie of the UK, wife of Mr Sesay Azomta, described the late Ya Wulay as very caring and a good person.

According to Mr Sesay, his sister was his best friend who cared for him. “She always called to inquire about my condition. She was an ardent supporter of electoral justice,” Mr Sesay disclosed. May the gentle soul of the departed Madam Ya Wulay rest in perfect peace.

Circumstances are such that Grandma Ya Wulay went out with her daughter (Kay Cee) and 2 grandchildren to enjoy the fireworks display in Maryland to celebrate American Independence Day.

After this big event, they drove back home peacefully. On arrival at home, she went upstairs to change and came back downstairs to wash some of the dishes, but her daughter Rabiatu had already taken care of the dishes. She then sat in one of the chairs, but just a little while, she complained to her daughter that she is not feeling too well and asked Kay Cee to call 911 (US Emergency) number.

She was later pronounced dead. Kay Cee was shocked and went to see her mum, calling her repeatedly, “Mummy, wake up, but our only (Ya Wulay). Our only honourable minister has gone for good.
