But Maada Bio’s intention to meet Ernest Koroma face to face was never realised after facing stumbling blocks in the Nigerian political capital Abuja. Maada Bio’s exact purpose of the intended meeting with Ernest Koroma was not made public but was clear was that Maada Bio was very eager to meet with Ernest Koroma to iron out their differences. Those close to Maada Bio say the illegal Sierra Leone President wanted to personally apologise to Ernest Koroma for the negative manner in which his SLPP regime had behaved to his predecessor in the last five and a half years of SLPP misrule. As access to Ernest Koroma was not possible through John Asouma, because of certain ECOWAS formalities that need to be met in such circumstances, the Peoples’ Power disclosed that the Executive Secretary John Asouma eventually decided to inform the ECOWAS Chairman President Tinubu about the Maada Bio request. Unfortunately, the Nigerian President Tinubu did not mince his words in rejecting outright the request. It was a hammer blow for the neglected Maada Bio who was in Abuja last week for the ECOWAS summit.
