Kenema Bereaved: Syco, Died in Magburaka, to be Buried Today in Farma Town; Babpa of Susu Town Died in the US; RIP, Kenema Brothers
Quick Summary
Kenema is mourning the painful deaths of two loving brothers. One is to be laid to rest today, and the other, who died in the USA, will be buried later.
Within one week, Kenema lost these gallant brothers in Sierra Leone and in the United States of America. Big brother Alhaji Mohamed Sisay, popularly known as Syco, passed away to eternity in Magburaka, Tonkolili District, northern Sierra Leone, on Monday, June 1, 2026. (Photo: Late Syco, RIP).
Syco, a top business guru, was on his usual gold business errands in Magburaka when he suddenly felt bad and immediately collapsed and died shortly after. Syco, in his late 60s, is the eldest son of the late, respected leader Alhaji Foday Sisay, EK1, and father and grandfather.
Big brother Syco is survived by three gorgeous children, Zainab Sisay, Foday Sisay, and Ahmed Syco Sisay Jr.; his widow, Mrs Fatmata Samuka Sisay; brothers, including Ismail; sisters; nieces and nephews; numerous friends and soul mates in Sierra Leone and abroad. RIP, big brother Syco. (Photos: RIP).

In Susu Town, another Kenema brother, Mr Alpha Abubakarr Jalloh, aka Babpa, son of the late diamond magnet Alhaji Bubakar Tellico Jalloh, sadly passed away in Maryland, United States, on Friday morning, June 4, 2026.
Speaking to Babpa’s elder brother yesterday in London, Alhaji Susu Town, a former goalkeeper and manager of Kamboi Eagles FC, said his late brother shockingly died in his sleep. He confirmed that Babpa was hale and hearty when he went to bed Thursday night.
Alhaji Susu Town disclosed that hours later, his brother could not answer his mobile phone. It was not until police emergencies were called in and broke down his door that they found him dead in his bed. “Autopsy will be done before funeral arrangements are made,” Alhaji Susu Town noted. Speaking to Syco’s younger brother, Mr Osman Sisay, in Freetown on Saturday, amid sympathies, he said everyone is still shocked over Syco’s sudden death. He said his remains were transported from Freetown to Kenema yesterday for burial.
The veteran Young Stars FC Chairman and big brother, Mr Rowland Barnett, popularly known as Barnico, confided yesterday from Kenema that Syco will be buried today at the sprawling property of the late Alhaji Foday Sisay in Farma Town, Combema Road, in Kenema.
As a strong member of the Young Stars family, Syco’s invaluable contributions will surely be missed in Kenema. Chairman Barnico echoed the feelings of Young Stars: “We have lost another strong pillar in Kenema, an original Young Stars.” (Photos: RIP, Syco).

Speaking to his closest ally and cousin, Mr Moivi Keller, based in the US, he disclosed that Syco had just visited England for his periodical medical treatment for his enlarged heart, which has been with him for some time now.
It was in 2011 that Abu Shaw last saw big brother Syco in Kenema. That was when Syco and his brother, Mr Moivi Keller, visited the Shaw family house to sympathise with the Shaw family for the death of their mother in 2011. Rest in peace, both Kenema brothers, Syco and Babpa.
Babpa is blessed with two beautiful children in America. Hundreds of mourners are expected to throng Kenema today for the funeral of Mr Syco at 2 pm in Farma Town. Rest in peace, both brothers. May the light of perpetual peace rest upon you.
