Journalist in Hiding from Bio’s Thugs After Hosting US Envoy Reimer Who Questions Bio’s Legality
Quick Summary
SLPP bandits belonging to Maada Bio’s camp are pursuing the radio journalist who hosted the American diplomat for questioning Maada Bio’s legitimacy.
Under the autocratic Bio regime, it is a capital offence to question Maada Bio in whatever state or form. So many innocent citizens have been killed or put behind bars or molested as a result. I do not spare even foreign diplomats. There was an uproar within the SLPP camp of Julius Maada Bio when the outgoing United States Ambassador David Reimer called a spade a spade. Envoy Reimer did not mince his words, words that tore into the very fabric of the Bio presidency for the dubious conduct of the June 24, 2023 general and presidential elections which was publicly stolen by Bio and his corrupt agents. Journalist Musa Kamara who aired the Ambassador’s interview is in hot waters as a result. Bio’s presidency has consistently shown that their SLPP regime does not respect press freedom, free speech and association, and civil liberties. This is democracy at worst. Broadcast journalist Musa Kamara is in hiding as a wanted man and his only crime was because he gave airtime to the US Envoy Reimer who used it perfectly to educate the nation about what has transpired and continues to transpire regarding the United States’ position on Sierra Leone and the June 24 fraudulent polls. Ambassador David Reimer’s frank explanation filtered down to the lowest person to understand the present situation. Maada Bio’s SLPP agents had always distorted the facts to many citizens, especially their own people in the southeast. Bio’s presidency has consistently shown that their SLPP regime does not respect press freedom, free speech and association, and civil liberties. This is democracy at worst. The enlightenment of the Southeasterners has infuriated Maada Bio so much that they are blaming the radio host Musa Kamara for the problem. Threats upon threats from SLPP government bandits to the poor journalist had ensued. I declared him wanted by Bio’s junta regime. Radio journalist Mr Musa Kamara is in hiding because of his health and safety in the aftermath of the explosive interview. The FM 98.1 Radio Democracy is the centre of the brouhaha between the undemocratic SLPP regime of Maada Bio and the notorious FM Radio Station, a former ally of the SLPP regime. Bio’s presidency has consistently shown that their SLPP regime does not respect press freedom, free speech and association, and civil liberties. This is democracy at worst.
At press time the relationship between the two is getting from bad to worse. During the explosive interview in which the US Envoy called into question the electoral commission’s results of June 24, 2023, and by extension Bio’s presidency, all hell broke loose. The interview apparently angered the government and the SLPP supporters who blasted the US Envoy for interfering in Sierra Leone’s internal affairs. As a result, the SLPP regime wanted to know why journalist Musa Kamara could host the US Envoy primarily to expose the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone ECSL and Bio. The journalist who was simply doing his job had to hide because of the threat to his life. Bio’s presidency has consistently shown that their SLPP regime does not respect press freedom, free speech and association, and civil liberties. This is democracy at worst.
The inexperienced SLPP Information Minister Chernor Bah had the effrontery to order the closure of the Radio Station twice on the day in question. In the last few days, the junta regime had instructed the EDSA, to cut off electricity supply to the Radio Station. The Bio presidency is particularly incensed because the US interview had exposed the hidden secret the Bio Junta did not want their blind supporters to know. The undemocratic regime of Julius Maada Bio’s chase of the radio journalist is bad news for free speech. Such a threat to journalist Musa Kamara clearly shows that democracy is dead and buried in Sierra Leone. Bio’s presidency has consistently shown that their SLPP regime does not respect press freedom, free speech and association, and civil liberties. This is democracy at worst.
