Good News for 2023 as Commonwealth & ECOWAS Give Positive Signals; Citizens are Delighted; No to 2028 Fake News
Quick Summary
Excellent news emerged for the 2023 voters that came from the Commonwealth and ECOWAS midway into the follow-up mission probe by the moral guarantors.
The good news, centred on restoring democracy, has uplifted the spirits of the 2023 electoral justice believers who were initially discouraged after hearing the sad story of the Gambian diplomat Aja Fatoumata Jallow-Tambajang, who is suspected of having sold her integrity for a pittance. Things got worse for 2023 voters when the same ECOWAS representative, Fatoumata Jallow-Tambajang, was heard discussing the 2028 elections and, in the same breath, praising the useless SLPP Chief Minister, Dr David ‘Memuna’ Sengeh, and expressing her admiration for his youthfulness as Chief Minister.
Amid Jallow-Tambajang’s discouraging out-of-tune comments, the all-mighty Commonwealth Secretariat lumbered in to release its positive position on the Sierra Leone chaotic situation, reaffirming its commitment to restoring democratic governance in the impoverished and beleaguered nation.
The Commonwealth, one of the international moral guarantors that observed the disputed June 24, 2023, elections, issued this commitment to protect democratic governance. This is a strong statement by the Commonwealth of Nations, often referred to as the British Commonwealth or simply Commonwealth. It is a 56-member state, and the majority are ex-members of the British Empire. (Photos: Moral guarantors talked with Sengeh and other SLPP officials).

According to the Commonwealth press release, the joint mission is focused on key priorities, including restoring the participation of all political actors in parliament and local councils, advancing the electoral reform agenda, strengthening inter-party dialogue mechanisms, and engaging civil society to support sustainable peace.
The Deputy Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Tanmaya Lal, noted. “Through our participation in this joint high-level mission, the Commonwealth seeks to support national stakeholders in rebuilding trust, advancing reforms, and upholding both the spirit and the letter of the 2023 Agreement of National Unity.
“In this regard, we appeal to all stakeholders to exercise restraint, refrain from actions or rhetoric that may heighten tensions, and engage constructively in dialogue to advance peace, stability and the well-being of the people of Sierra Leone,” Tanmaya Lal said. The Commonwealth reaffirms democratic governance, the rule of law, and political inclusion in Sierra Leone. (Photos: Moral guarantors met Bio’s ECSL. ECOWAS Press Statement Dated 13-17, 2026
Pursuant to the directive of the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government at its 68th Ordinary Session held on 14 December, 2025, in Abuja, Nigeria, the President of the ECOWAS Commission Omar Alieu Touray–in consultation with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of UNOWAS Dr Leonardo Santos Simao–has deployed a joint follow-up mission of the international moral guarantors to Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Scheduled for 13-17 April 2026, the mission will assess the implementation status of the Agreement for National Unity between the Government of and the Opposition All People’s Congress APC party in October 2023 and the recommendations of the June 2024 Tripartite Committee’s Report on Electoral Systems Management, ensuring the country remain on the path of peace, stability and deepening of democratic and electoral processes. Meanwhile, Sierra Leoneans have expressed delight in both the Commonwealth and ECOWAS for their positive stance and commitment to democratic governance in Sierra Leone, where democracy is under siege. Sierra Leone is a time bomb because of the broad daylight thievery of the 2023 elections from the real winner Dr Samura Kamara.
An explosion is imminent in the country if the right things and justice are not done as soon as possible. Moreover, the fake news being paraded by the evil SLPP Paopas is designed to distract and mislead the people, but the patriotic social media bloggers and journalists are ready to stop Bio’s 2028 lies. No amount of doctoring speeches by the moral guarantors will fool the 2023 electorate.
Just a day or two into the four-day follow-up joint mission in Sierra Leone, the Commonwealth Secretariat informed the world and Sierra Leone stakeholders in particular that they are disappointed in the snail-paced implementation of the tripartite recommendations. For now, ECOWAS, trying to redeem its tarnished image, has issued a brilliant press statement.
