ECOWAS is Back of the Queue; ECOWAS Changing its Chair or Allowing Bio to Continue Means Zero; Vitally, the US, UK, UN, EU, Etc., in Charge of Power Transfer
Quick Summary
The Economic Community of West African States ECOWAS is a big failure, a shambolic group. ECOWAS has worsened in recent years under the illegal Bio regime.
This salient fact about the status of ECOWAS is no hidden secret, the most corrupt regional political body on the African continent. It is vital to note that the ECOWAS meeting in Freetown is 100% different from the international moral guarantors mandated to restore democracy shortly. (Photo: ECOWAS Commission).
Sierra Leone is absolutely lucky to see the useless ECOWAS group placed at the back of the queue for democracy restoration. Invariably, such a disgraceful status over the years has led the visibly corrupt ECOWAS Commission to a disgraceful position in resolving the electoral impasse in Sierra Leone.
Having noticed the criminality of ECOWAS, the global partners comprising the USA, UK, UN, EU, AU, and others decided a long time ago to take over the political chaos in Sierra Leone, replacing ECOWAS, in order to champion the restoration process and thereby relegating ECOWAS to the dustbin of history. That is why patriotic Sierra Leoneans should not be distracted or lose hope because of the so-called annual ECOWAS meeting expected to take place from July 12 to 17, 2026 onwards. This ECOWAS summit has nothing to do with the electoral justice process, and by extension, the political transition of power to the legitimate winner, Dr Samura Kamara.
Inside sources say ECOWAS leaders are expected in Freetown primarily to endorse the next chairman of the ECOWAS commission, who is expected to be Senegal’s President Bassirou Faye, amid persistent reports that the illegal Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio has bribed certain corrupt elements at ECOWAS to stay a year more.
Apparently, the very idea that the Sierra Leone tyrant Bio is bribing to continue as ECOWAS chair has angered patriotic Sierra Leoneans. Some citizens feel that it will impact the restoration of democracy. Factually, ECOWAS has no more vital role to play in Sierra Leone in this regard. (Photo: President Faye should be the right chairman now).

Thankfully, the development partners led by the US, the UN, EU are determined to swear in the President-elect, Dr Samura Kamara, without delay. Therefore, the good people of Sierra Leone should exercise maximum patience and should not be afraid or feel that ECOWAS has any iota of influence.
As for the ECOWAS summit, Sierra Leoneans should know that the selection of the new chairman has nothing to do with the transfer of power. It is widely expected that the Senegalese president Faye, would succeed the illegal president Maada Bio.
But if the illegitimate president Bio succeeds in bribing his way to the ECOWAS chairmanship for his second one-year term, Sierra Leoneans should not feel discouraged or hopeless because the swearing-in of President-elect Dr Samura Kamara will still go ahead as planned. ECOWAS meeting or no ECOWAS meeting, the transfer of power is imminent.
