The late Mrs Ijatu Barrie, the daughter of the late popular business magnet Alhaji Mohamed Bailor Barrie, passed to eternity at the Medical Hospital, Raleigh, in North Carolina. The late Ijatu Barrie, born on April 27, 1963, was known for her active role as a Muslim, a dedicated community pillar in the Sierra Leone Community, and a kind-hearted sister, sweet mother, aunt, and nice cousin who will surely be missed.
Offering deepest sympathy yesterday to her elder brother, Mr Amadu Barrie, my cousin, based in the USA, he disclosed that Ijatu Barrie was feeling unwell for a while and recently underwent surgery, but her health condition did not improve.
“We just returned from the funeral with the other family members. Very sad,” Cousin Amadu Barrie told the Organiser editor yesterday. Family members were present at the funeral, including elder sister Ramata Barrie. (Photo: RIP Ijatu Barrie).

The other Barrie family members include Madam Binta Barrie, Madam Fatmeh, Mr MB, Mr Alhaji, etc. Ijatu’s elder brother from the same mother, the late Mr Tejan Barrie, passed away around two years ago in Freetown. May the soul of the departed rest in peace, Ameen. More details on Ijatu’s funeral by Mr Ahmed R. Wurie, USA, who attended the ceremony.
