The global partners were direct and firm in their latest refusal to Maada Bio, who had delayed the political transition process. Reports say the powerless Bio had appealed to the foreign community for an extension until June 2026, at which time he would hand over power peacefully to the President-elect, Dr Samura Kamara, who won the June 24, 2023, general elections.

In the same breath, minutes after the international moral guarantors had boldly and determinedly rejected Bio’s recent plea outright, they warned Bio that nothing is going to stop the transition of power this time around.

They added that not even another needless extension would derail the process. For months now, the illegal Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio has delayed the transition of power by using deceitful mind games and wrong-footing the international moral guarantors through countless pleas for more time.

After Maada Bio had played this schoolboy politics for many months with the global partners who allowed him to enjoy many extensions without abiding by the deadlines, the moral guarantors have had enough of Maada Bio’s childish political deception.

This week, the illegitimate President Bio had the temerity to ask for another extension until June, when he promised to hand over power to the legitimate winner of the June 24, 2023, elections, Dr Samura Kamara. Unsurprisingly, the moral guarantors flatly refused Bio’s request.

The deceptive liar called Bio was told in no uncertain terms that there will be no more extensions, not even for a day. Bio promised in late December 2024 to hand over power. He failed. On January 22, 2025, he made another promise to the global partners, but he failed again. Then, on April 27, 2025 (Independence Day), Bio failed to hand over power again, despite promising the international community.

Then, on July 14 and 27, 2025, Maada Bio violated these two deadlines to transfer power, leaving the global partners very upset. Since then, the international community has left Maada Bio in limbo and has not entertained any more of his bogus extension promises.

Now, as the pressure mounts on the Bio presidency to respect the 85 tripartite recommendations that are geared towards ushering in the restoration of democracy, Bio has tried again to play mind games with the international community.

Unfortunately, the global partners are no longer interested in Maada Bio’s extension plea this time. This is because the global partners are now ready to restore democracy on time without any delays through useless extension requests. EJ has indeed won the battle and the war.
