As recently as three months ago, the failed and wasteful Sierra Leone leader Maada Bio has shuttled to six countries in three continents with colossal sums of money spent in hiring chartered jets. All in all, Maada Bio has chartered the same flights costing thousands of dollars and travelled over three hundred times since April 4, 2018 when he took power. Top Civil Society Activist called J Mus compiled the following report thus –

In the span of just three month, president Bio has visited China, the UAE, Nigeria, Senegal, the United States and France. The people of our country are deeply frustrated by president Bio’s extensive travels, especially amidst the economic challenges we are facing. The suffering masses express their discontent over the frequency of president Bio’s foreign trips during times of economic hardship and drugs more especially Kush killing our youths.

According to section 5, subsection 2B of the constitution of Sierra Leone 1991 it says the security, peace, and welfare of the people of our country should be the primary focus and responsibility of the government. However, it appears that the government is neglecting its duty to prioritize the welfare of the people. President Bio’s numerous travels, even during the COVID-19 pandemic, including his recent honeymoon trip, raise concerns about his commitment to addressing the pressing issues facing our nation.

It’s worth noting that president Bio has travelled more frequently than any other president in Sierra Leone’s history. A responsible government should heed the concerns of its citizens, yet it seems that the New Direction government is indifferent to the plight of its people. Many citizens are enduring significant hardships, and president Bio’s promises to alleviate their suffering have fallen short.

First ever in the history of this country guinea currency is more value than ours and our president is busy creating unnecessary ministries and agencies making the wage bill become so high.
