UK, Portugal, Italy Join US, Spain, Holland to Probe Drug Ship; Weapons & Foreign Agents Make Case Dead Serious for Bio & Jos
Quick Summary
The international network investigating the drug ship from Sierra Leone seized by the Spanish Navy indicates the seriousness with which the case is taken.
Now, the British government, Portugal, and Italy are the latest European nations to join Spain, the United States, and the Netherlands in investigating the drug ship that contained between 30,000 and 40,000 kg of cocaine (around 40 tons). (Photo: During the seizure in Spain).
Europe’s most wanted drug fugitive Joseph Johannes Liejdekker, alias Bolle Jos, the son-in-law of the illegal Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio, is at the centre of the latest drug transhipment intercepted by the Spanish Navy on international waters on Friday, May 1, 2026.
The Dutch drug baron Bolle Jos, also known as Omar Sheriff, according to his Sierra Leone diplomatic passport, is currently being given government protection in Sierra Leone. Bolle Jos is most importantly married to Maada Bio’s daughter, Agnes Bio. They have a child, the youngest drug baron.
For the wrong reasons, international attention is being focused on Maada Bio because the drug link has thrown Bio’s illegal SLPP regime from the frying pot, into the fire. It is impossible to divorce Bio’s narcotic regime from the seized drug ship under investigation. (Photos: Cocaine bales and Navy ship. And Spain’s Interior Minister, Fernando Grande-Marlaska).

On top of the drug seizure is the interception of heavy weapons and ammunition on board the ship, which is reported to have its origin in the Sierra Leonean capital, Freetown. Imagine the origin of the heavy guns and ammunition found by the Spanish Navy.
And worse, the capture of 23 foreign nationals from three countries, namely 17 from the Philippines, 5 from the Netherlands, and 1 from Suriname, has added to the high-tension moment associated with the international scandal and embarrassment directed at Sierra Leone.
Sources say all 23 crew members are placed on pre-trial detention and have been refused bail. Many questions have surfaced regarding the capture of so many foreign nationals on the ship that originated from Sierra Leone in West Africa.
How come no Sierra Leonean was among the crew members nabbed despite the ship originating from Freetown? Who recruited these foreign agents? The possibility is very high that the drug baron Bolle Jos recruited them. (Photos: Maada Bio and Bolle Jos).

What about the weapons found on board the ship? Who owns the heavy weapons and ammunition? What was the motive behind the acquisition of these weapons? Answers are needed, but it is clear that Maada Bio and his APC accomplices are in serious trouble.
As Sierra Leone becomes a Narco-State thanks to Bio’s involvement with his son-in-law, Bolle Jos, the Spanish police, collaborating with Europol, the US Drug Enforcement Agency, the Dutch Police, the UK, Portugal, and Italy are investigating the matter with utmost seriousness.
Unsurprisingly, the majority of Sierra Leoneans want the global community to probe and arrest Maada Bio and his son-in-law, Bolle Jos and other suspects in the SLPP and the APC parties to face trial for the production, distribution and exportation of illicit drugs.
