The illegitimate Sierra Leone First Lady Fatima Jabbe Bio – popularly known as Mob Justice for her love for the physical torture of citizens – was elected by accident in the Ethiopian capital by First Ladies as President of the African First Ladies Organisation. The Organisation of African First Ladies for Development OAFLAD is the highest decision-making body of the group that elects members for two years. The important point to note here is that it is the country rather than the individual that is recognised to take the hot seats.

And so the accidental election of Fatima aka Mob Justice makes no difference as far as the transfer of power is concerned. However, this news has devastated some Sierra Leoneans who do not think Fatima Bio deserves any accolade considering her odd status in Sierra Leone.

In reality, Fatima Bio is not qualified for this current accolade because her husband Julius Maada Bio is not a legitimate Sierra Leone President as he lost the June 24, 2023 elections but forced himself at State House after publicly stealing the people’s votes from the real winner Dr Samura Kamara.

In that capacity as a constitutional coupist of the June 2023 general elections, it makes Maada Bio’s wife Fatima Jabbie Bio equally illegitimate as First Lady of Sierra Leone. Though patriotic Sierra Leoneans are presently appalled at the accidental election of Fatima Bio to head the African First Ladies Organisation OAFLAD, what happened in Addis Ababa would not change the determined efforts of global partners to restore democracy in Sierra Leone.

Yet, pessimistic Sierra Leoneans are still questioning the actual position of the international community regarding the electoral justice fight in Sierra Leone. What is happening? Are the development partners divided into the fight for electoral justice?

Are they telling the real winner of the June 24, 2023 elections Dr Samura Kamara the whole truth? Or are they also telling Maada Bio something different? Whatever the situation regarding OAFLAD, the people of Sierra Leone should know that it will not change the transition of power.

Further investigations into Sierra Leone’s election in Addis by accident Fatima Bio as head of OAFLAD have revealed that Maada Bio, in his quest to find recognition, bribed heavily for wife to get the ceremonial job. The good news is her election will not change the fight for electoral justice.

The United Nations Security Council has made it its obligation through ECOWAS to restore constitutional rule in Sierra Leone. It could be recalled that Maada Bio served as a non-permanent chairman of the UN Security Council for one month. Yet, the tripartite went ahead. In Addis Ababa, First Lady Elected OAFLAD Steering Committee Member

The wife of the president, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has been elected member, the Steering Committee of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), the highest decision-making body of the organisation.

Her election, according to a statement issued on Saturday by her media assistant, Busola Kukoyi, took place during the 29th Ordinary General Assembly of the organization ongoing in Addis Ababa on the sideline of the 38th African Union Summit Ordinary Session.

Mrs Tinubu joined the eight-member Steering Committee as one of the two members representing West Africa. Other member nations elected include Sierra Leone, where the First Lady is the new President of the Organization; Angola, where the First Lady is the Vice-President; Malawi, Kenya, Ethiopia, Equatorial Guinea and Congo.

She will serve in the new position for two years. The First Lady, who is already a strong voice within OAFLAD, is expected to further carry the torch of the organization, driving its advocacy initiatives towards the realization of its 2025-2030 Strategic Framework.
