The name Mohamed Konneh is not only like an unpleasant noise in the ears of Sierra Leoneans, but a name that has gone down in history as one of the names that set a platform to destabilise a once peaceful and united Sierra Leone. A name that is synonymous with deceit, daring and corruption, Mr Mohamed ‘Thief man’ Konneh is the sole cause of what Sierra Leoneans are going through at the moment. After people have prayed and fasted and endured this menace for five terrible years under the SLPP regime of President Julius Maada Bio, the answer to our prayers was in the hands of the voters. But Konneh said NO, we should continue to suffer because Maada Bio is his god, and SLPP his priority. What Mohamed Konneh has failed to realise is that he has committed treason by announcing Maada Bio as President of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

It’s clearly enshrined in our 1991 Constitution that, the winner shall obtain 55 % of the valid votes cast.  According to the European Union Election Observers Mission’s Annual Reports, on page 42, none of the presidential candidates in the June 24 election was able to secure the required 55%.  This report correlates with National Election Watch NEW’s reports.  So where did Konneh get the 56% he announced? It’s so obvious that the results announced by this criminal did not reflect the votes of the people.

That is why he is so adamant by defying everybody that he won’t publish the results by polling station. Konneh should know one thing here, announcing someone who didn’t get the required 55%, then he went ahead to certify him as the winner, is a treasonous crime. All those who are now working with this illegal regime, including Chief Justice Babatunde Edwards who administered the Oath of Office to Maada Bio, did what they are doing because of Konneh’s pronouncement.

Mohamed Konneh is the first suspect, the agent of this political impasse. That is why when it was rumoured that he was not going to be part of the Dialogue, it was not only a joke to the people but an affront to our collective intelligence as a people. Mohamed Konneh, the Supreme Court awaits you. Justice will surely be served to you.
