Many senior SLPP officials had deserted Julius Maada Bio months ago and now as tension mounts regarding the September 11 protests more officials mostly junior ones are leaving the country secretly for safety. Tomorrow the much heralded September 11 protest will take place but already panic-stricken SLPP officials and family members are running away. The SLPP cowards who have destroyed Sierra Leone in the last five years of President Bio’s misrule, bad governance, human rights violations, etc., have suddenly given up all hopes of their SLPP regime continuing in power by secretly absconding into thin air. Leaving the country unceremoniously because of smelling the rat and seeing the gradual downfall of the Bio regime clearly shows a sinking ship that has lost its rudders on the high seas. The latest reports say there are many government officials who are stealthily abandoning the sinking ship. Many of them have left Freetown for the southeast their stronghold in readiness to escape through Liberia. The secret fleeing of panic-stricken SLPP government officials and their families out of the country has escalated because of the September 11 protest. What a load of rubbish. No sane individual or respectable institution nationally and internationally has recognised the Maada Bio regime thus far since the June 24 general and presidential elections. As the people of Sierra Leone gather their energies and every iota of their physique to demonstrate tomorrow, the Bio regime is spending 50 million Leones as bribes to each union to make sure they do not take part in the September 11 protest. Maada Bio is wickedly bribing Traditional Chiefs, Chairmen of the Drivers’ Union, and Kekeh Associations while the masses are suffering every day. The people have been reassured not to be afraid. “No killings will happen, unlike the August 10 protests. The latest to flee is the Anti-Corruption Commission Chairman Francis Ben Kaifala who is in the US on a purported one-year study leave.
