Senators Lobby for Bio to Meet Trump & Rubio Fails; But Bio Met Rubio’s Deputy; Like a President Meeting Deputy Minister Leema
Quick Summary
The clear signs of snubbery from the US and others to the illegitimate Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio at the United Nations summit 2025 cannot be clearer.
What are the message signs? Bluntly, the United States government and other democracies have been categorical, i.e. America and others do not recognise Maada Bio as the illegitimate president of Sierra Leone. The shameless Maada Bio, however, is still pretending not to understand the signs of rejection. (Photo: Bio finally met Deputy Secretary Christopher Landau, likened to a president meeting with Deputy Minister Attila. Disgrace).
As all buffoon politicians and individuals do, Maada Bio is still trying his hand through bribery and lobbying senators in the United States during and after the UN summit to gain recognition and legitimacy. Unfortunately, Bio cannot physically meet with President Donald Trump despite all efforts to do so.
Latest information has confirmed that since Bio arrived in New Jersey on September 21, 2025, for the United Nations General Assembly UNGA summit in New York, the illegal President Bio has been lobbying to meet with the American President Donald Trump. But failed miserably.
Bio reportedly turned his attention to Marco Rubio, the Secretary of State. His US lobbyists tried to make arrangements for Bio to meet Rubio, but that effort also stonewalled. That was before, during and after the UN summit had welcomed the world leaders to New York. (Photo: Deputy Secretary Chris Landau met Bio as grin-faced David Sengeh looks on).

Eventually, Bio could meet the Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau and not his boss, Marco Rubio. The meeting, low-profile as it was, did not dampen the spirit of the shameless Bio. The idiot Maada Bio took pictures with Mr Landau and posted them on social media to bluff his blind SLPP fools around the world. Mere PR stunt.
Maada Bio continues to disgrace himself and disgrace Sierra Leone on the world stage. The signs of total rejection had been put forward right in the face of Bio, but the humiliated Sierra Leone’s illegal President Bio could not even see beyond his nose.
At the UNGA summit, when it was time for Bio to speak on September 24, the UN Hall was empty as world leaders walked out in protest of Bio’s illegal occupation of State House. Everyone knew that Bio did not win the June 24, 2023, elections but stole it publicly from the real winner, Dr Samura Kamara.
Since then, the Tripartite Investigations have been conducted, and 85 recommendations have emerged. But Bio is still playing the fool. In America for the UN summit, Bio was not even invited as the president of Sierra Leone, but as the acting chairman of the ECOWAS Commission. (Photo: President-elect Dr Samura Kamara is the people’s choice).

But Bio has no more shame remaining in his DNA. What he did in America to lobby and failed to meet Trump and Rubio, and ended up meeting Rubio’s deputy instead, is likened to a foreign leader visiting Sierra Leone and could not meet the president but rather a deputy minister instead.
The similitude of a visiting president in Freetown meeting only a Deputy Minister like Lawrence Leema instead of meeting President Bio is a big blow. Or a foreign president in Sierra Leone, only meeting Deputy Minister Attila instead of meeting President Ernest Koroma, is a disgrace. This is a similar situation that the shameless Bio faced in the US. More details are as follows –
When a President Accepts a Deputy, It Means Failure – As Maada Bio Visited Washington and Returned Disappointed
By a Concerned Citizen
In the realm of diplomacy, the importance of protocol and rank cannot be overstated. If a head of state (like a president) only engages with a lower-ranking US official instead of someone of equal stature (such as the US President, Vice President, or Secretary of State), it may signal that the US is placing less importance on that relationship. President Julius Maada Bio’s journey to Washington was meant to elevate Sierra Leone’s status. (Photo: President Trump and Marco Rubio).

Unfortunately, it concluded with embarrassment. The leader of this nation met solely with a Deputy Secretary of State – a level of interaction that falls significantly short of the respect his position commands. This was not merely a breach of protocol; it was a failure. True leaders secure meetings with top officials – presidents, vice presidents, or, at the very least, cabinet members. Bio achieved none of this. By accepting a deputy’s handshake, he diminished Sierra Leone’s reputation and devalued the presidency itself.
This incident is not a one-off error. It reflects a recurring trend. Bio has transformed leadership into a spectacle – complete with motorcades, speeches, and international trips that lack real substance. His visit to Washington was no exception: a display of statesmanship devoid of meaningful outcomes. What impression does this leave on the people of Sierra Leone? That our president is satisfied with the bare minimum, that our nation lacks respect on the global stage.
That the individual who should uphold our national dignity is instead pursuing photo opportunities, regardless of how degrading they may be. A president who genuinely cherished Sierra Leone’s honour would not have settled for such a low standard. Bio did. And in doing so, he highlighted that the issue lies not with Washington’s priorities – but with his own deficiency in influence, vision, and leadership. Sierra Leone deserves a president who can step onto the global stage and command respect. Bio has once again demonstrated that he is not that individual.
