MOV, Wise Man from the East: Example of a True Patriot, a Stark Contrast to the Inept Ex-APC Ministers in Ernest’s Gov’t
Quick Summary
Dr Momoh Vandi, popularly known as MOV in Sierra Leone and around the world, the real Tok En Do politician, is a champion of electoral justice and a true humanitarian.
Read the thoughts of Dr Momoh Vandi during the recent Electoral Justice Workshop in Kenema, headquarters of the east, where the patriotic Council of APC Media Bloggers and other media gurus were participants. This latest transcribed piece is a continuation of the earlier ones. (Photo: MOV is the man of the people).
MOV, former Deputy Finance Minister, spoke on May 17, 2025: “We should have conscience. I believe this is not correct. If it comes to the worst, I have something to eat. But what about that man and woman, don’t you have a conscience? You cannot do that. So, for those of you who decided to fight this party, as my brother Foday said, we are not fighting for Dr Samura Kamara, but we are fighting for the country.
“It just happens that he is leading us in this battle. But we are fighting for ourselves and the people of this country. So, therefore, I am encouraging you to fight. You should not allow to be intimidated. I am pleading for God’s sake. I know times are difficult, but maintain your values, maintain your respect. If you can only afford rice and palm oil, eat it, and then you prefer eating Jolof and bowing your head while eating that food.
“It goes a long way, some of us, the way we have tailored our lives. All this while, that’s why nobody could bring nonsense to me. You cannot compromise me. You cannot because I won’t agree. My love for the country comes first. My party comes second (applause). I’m in the last position. I can even sacrifice my pleasure for people who are in need. I’ve done that so many times, and I’ll continue to do it.
“Some of us did not come to politics to make money. I tell people this all the time. If you come into politics and want to be a millionaire, at the end of the day, you will become a thief. That should not be your focus. Some people are primarily coming to do by saying it’s our time. No, no, no. You came to serve. That is why, the penny, penny, I was getting when I got the opportunity to serve this country, I brought it to my people. (Photo: President-Elect Dr Samura Kamara).

“I will send it to Kailahun and other places. Otherwise, I would have said, let me take all these small things, and go and take care of myself. But I said NO. That is not my primary motive for coming to politics, to enrich myself. I want to serve, I want to help. That should be the mindset of politicians. We need genuine politicians in this country like Dr Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara. (Applause…).
“I’m telling you. Some of you do not know the president-elect Dr Samura Kamara. By the grace of God, if you know this man properly, thank God for bringing him to lead this country. With or without politics, this man is OK. He has what it takes to fix this country. I will say it authoritatively, I know, I worked with him, I know him, I cannot say a lot of stuff here. That is the right man for this country. (Applause).
“Some of these people who don’t know him….I wonder what this is? How can you have such a man, with all his experience? And he is loved by the people of Sierra Leone. He is not giving them money, but they love him. Anywhere you see leadership. It’s not where you make arrangements, no, no, no. It is spontaneous, you see the surrounding people.
“When you have the opportunity to sit with him and talk with him in depth, then you’ll know how wise Dr Samura Karama is. So, this is the man. Some of us have the privilege and opportunity to interact with Dr Samura Kamara. This is why I would support him till my last breath. (Applause).
“Also, you know that I stood for the flag bearer post. But there is one thing people do not believe. If you believe in God, nothing will stress you. God, Allah makes a leader. You just have to believe that. If God has ordained Malaka as chairman, but you fight him, you are just looking for trouble,” MOV noted in his address amid more clapping.
