Today, July 4, is as significant a date for Americans as June 24, 2023, for the people of Sierra Leone, especially the voters of the 2023 elections, who prioritise the significance of the 2023 election date. The Organiser newspaper, on behalf of patriotic Sierra Leoneans who truly believe in electoral justice and the restoration of democracy, wholeheartedly wishes the government and people of America the happiest of 250 years of Independence Day celebrations today.

In West Africa, where Sierra Leone is fighting for the restoration of democracy, the impoverished people are kindly appealing to President Donald John Trump to use his powers to hasten the restoration of democracy in Sierra Leone without delay.

As the main external stakeholder leading the international efforts to implement the Tripartite Recommendations, born out of the 2023 Agreement of National Unity investigating committee, Sierra Leoneans want the US government to remove the illegal President Bio now.

Since the broad daylight robbery of the 2023 general and presidential elections by the fraudulent SLPP regime of Maada Bio, in connivance with the crooks in the APC executives, and others, the development partners have tightened the screws on the Bio regime.

The United Nations, European Union, Britain, Russia, Ireland and the US have imposed economic and financial sanctions on the SLPP regime to pile more pressure on Bio to relinquish power and hand it over to the president-elect, Dr Samura Kamara. For three years now, the political dithering by Bio has gone on, leaving internal and external stakeholders frustrated. Nevertheless, recent developments have shown that Maada Bio’s illegal presidency, by virtue of stealing the June 24, 2023, elections, is losing grip on power.

Light is definitely at the end of the tunnel for Sierra Leone’s democracy. That is why the 2023 electorates are urging America and global partners in general to restore democracy in Sierra Leone now to free the people from the claws of Bio’s brutality and illegality.

Suffering Sierra Leoneans will remain grateful to President Trump and his able Secretary of State Marco Rubio, among others, for leading the global efforts in saving the soul of Sierra Leone.
