Fall of Media Giant Kabs Kanu After Chericoco’s Virus Infected the Cocorioko Editor; Slamming Tripartite Exposed Kabs Kanu
Quick Summary
The media giant in the person of Reverend Kabs Kanu has fallen from grace thanks to the infectious Chericoco virus that continues to spread worldwide.
Likened to the Covid-19 pandemic, the virus liquid leaking from Chericoco’s veins is spreading poisonous infections in every nook and cranny as this evil Sierra Leone politician called Chericoco trod on. From all indications, Chericoco, whose real name is Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah, has finally conquered the once respectable media guru Mr Kabs Kanu who has become his latest conquest to propagate Chericoco’s evil vibes and ostensibly Maada Bio’s prolongation in power. The US based Kabs Kanu, the editor and publisher of the Cocorioko newspaper, recently met with Chericoco in a secret hideout in America where reports say brown envelope greased the palms of the great Reverend Kabs Kanu. The picture of the secret meeting between Chericoco and Kabs Kanu leaked on social media, which reportedly embarrassed the shy Reverend. Kabs Kanu, a journalist of decades of experience under his belt, had wanted this picture out of the media but as God’s time is the best to expose more traitors in Sierra Leone, it leaked out.
The situation in Sierra Leone has reached a point where you either support democracy and by extension the Tripartite process and by further extension Dr Samura Kamara, the leader of the APC party or you support the illegal SLPP President Julius Maada Bio, and by extension being Anti-Tripartite and by further extension being an Anti-Democrat. Today, it is clear which sides of the coin one would decide to choose. Whenever you rub shoulders with Chericoco, the virus, you will be infected with the Chericoco virus. In such a situation, you have compromised your credibility by becoming a sell-out.
But when you decide to protect your reputation, the best you can do is to avoid the Chericoco factor by any means necessary. Run away as fast as you can. Don’t meet him, don’t interview him if you are a patriotic journalist and if you want to keep your credibility intact avoid him because any contact with Chericoco even an atom’s weight of contact with him, your good image is tarnished for forever. This is because anywhere Chericoco trod on that road is infected let alone you shake hands with him and not to mention accepting brown envelopes from him. The one quality Chericoco possesses is his ability to release cash freely. He uses bribery to corrupt sound minds. (Photo: Dr Samura Kamara, the peoples’ choice).

Unfortunately, the veteran journalist Kabs Kanu has fallen prey to Chericoco’s bribery and corruption. There is no doubt about it. Suspicion about Kabs Kanu shift from positivism to negativism has grown in recent times following his pessimistic thoughts and the direction his stories regarding the Tripartite and democracy in Sierra Leone had taken. Kabs Kanu has been hiding behind his fingers for sometimes now but the Organiser newspaper has caught wind of his shift from patriotism a few months ago. Editor Abu Shaw’s phone will ring anytime a positive Tripartite story is published in the Organiser and Kabs Kanu on the other side of the Atlantic would ask in his often soft voice; “Is your story today true?”
Countless times Abu Shaw would just laugh it off by teasing his big brother: “Bra, you think I will publish something that is not true or something that would damage my image?” But the suspicion about Kabs Kanu never goes away. Now, the cat is finally out of the bag and everyone has seen the true nakedness of the once great veteran media guru Kabs Kanu. Last week when his picture with the virus Chericoco was made public, the Organiser editor was not surprised. Abu Shaw knew big brother would soon come to town with a story to satisfy his new boss Chericoco and to justify why he deserves the hefty brown envelope he recently received from Chericoco.
Definitely, it is one up for Chericoco who would be laughing his heart out this morning after having read his latest conquest Kabs Kanu’s article entitled ‘Do Not Be Fooled About ECOMOG’s Mission in Sierra Leone’ in which the fallen media man disgraced himself so publicly for a pittance. It is clear that Reverend Kabs Kanu did not want this article to be seen worldwide. He posted it in a US WhatApps forum meant only for Chericoco’s supporters. But God does not sleep. A patriotic Sierra Leoneans saw Kabs Kanu’s article on the Chericoco’s forum and he copied and reposted it worldwide for all to see Kabs Kanu betrayal of the people.
Chericoco is today one of the most stupid politicians the country has produced. This is a man who is the Presidential Running Mate for the APC party. Instead of supporting his boss Dr Samura Kamara, he has foolishly embarked on sabotaging him and the people of Sierra Leone who voted massively for Dr Samura Kamara on the June 24, 2023 multi-tier elections which Maada Bio stole. It is sad that big brother Kabs Kanu has been exposed and his hidden agenda against Dr Samura Kamara is laid bare. Read Kabs Kanu’s nonsense and misleading perceptions below published verbatim –
Do Not Be Fooled About ECOMOG’s Mission In Sierra Leone
By Kabs Kanu
Do not let the bloggers and errant people fool you. The ECOMOG troops are not coming to change the government. That claim is laughable. They do not have the mandate. Sierra Leone is a sovereign state to the extent that everything is going on peacefully in the country and the opposition inadvertently accepted the rigged 2023 elections result by cooperating with the SLPP in a sham Tripartite exercise. The 2023 elections were decided the day APC called off their boycott, went back to Parliament, accepted the terms of reference of the Tripartite joined SLPP in the one-sided exercise and to add insults to injury agree on 80 recommendations. I cannot understand why some of our people are so steadfast in not reading between the lines that we, our own selves, took SLPP off the hook.
If we really wanted electoral justice, we would have stood our ground and not listened to Maada Bio, the hypocritical USA and EU, the duplicitous ECOWAS and other stakeholders. We should have refused all overtures to return to governance. We should have staged massive demonstrations and made it difficult on the SLPP to hold on to their stolen mandate. Under such conditions, electoral justice would have been dreamt of, if Sierra Leone had become ungovernable in the process. But our broke MPs were too anxious to return to Parliament and we had traitors like Mohamed Bangura gunning to betray the party’s moves. Still, the MPs and Mayors should not have returned. I wholeheartedly support electoral justice. I am angrier than most people for what SLPP did to us in 2023 and my articles speak for themselves. (Photo: But Maada Bio stole the elections).

But let us face reality. We are too cowardly to challenge and stand up to Maada Bio. We even go to the point of condemning protests and demonstrations. The golden opportunity given us … The Tripartite … we blundered throughout the process. We do not want to mobilize the people and fight Maada Bio for electoral justice. So, how do we want to get this electoral justice? We goofed badly at the Tripartite and it is very annoying. But even after all the mistakes at the last resort the situation could have still been redressed. We should have rejected the 80 recommendations for not having what we want and boycotted the presentation of the recommendations to Maada Bio.
Dr Moinina Sengeh, C-Bah and every Bio spokesman or woman were confidently drumming it home that there was no rerun in the recommendations and that whatever was recommended was about future elections. APC should have taken the cue and insisted that the area of divergence … the rerun issue … should have been included in the recommendations so that there would have been 81 recommendations. But we were plodding on senselessly and blindly, and cooperating with the SLPP in everything, even with all these harsh facts slapping us in the face that the Tripartite was not going our way. I even learn that some APC members of the Tripartite strongly advised against accepting the 80 recommendations and joining the criminal Emmanuel Gaima and others in presenting them to Bio. If we were serious about electoral justice, that was where we would have flexed our muscles but we didn’t. We were not working as a team. Photo: Kabs Kanu, right, at the UN petition last year. Do people know that we are bungling our goodwill and the sympathies we once enjoyed from America and the International community by now turning around (After we had accepted the 80 recommendations that had nothing about a rerun) and now insisting that we are still fighting for electoral justice? We have to be careful that we do not play into the SLPP narrative to the international community that we, APC, are the problem in Sierra Leone. The only good that will come from the ECOMOG arrival is that SLPP might not be able to rig elections again and kill innocent protesters because ECOMOG will stand between the SLPP and the people and intervene. The Sierra Leone military and police do not know that they are about to lose the ruthless power they have over our people.
ECOMOG will not sit down and see Bio’s kamajor army and police killing innocent protesters in Sierra Leone. Count that as one of the good things of the ECOMOG deployment. The next good thing from the ECOMOG deployment is that if APC win in 2028, they will benefit more from ECOMOG than SLPP because ECOMOG will protect the government from being overthrown by this warmongering SLPP Maada Bio has deviously created. Trust that the present SLPP will not accept the nonsense APC have accepted from Maada Bio. They will try to make it impossible for the APC to govern and without ECOMOG, the next APC Government, whether good or bad, would have been shortlived once we continue to be cowardly and run by people mesmerized by the SLPP. But, with ECOMOG in place, SLPP will not be able to take advantage of our weakness.
What this means is that SLPP and APC will now be able to complete the 10 years each of them are given. The next election will be won by the APC, if the arrangement said to have been made between the international community and the polity in Sierra Leone holds. Every 10 years, we learn that there will be regime change. SLPP will lose in 2028, whether they like it or not but will win the 2038 election. APC will return in 2048. That is the way we learn it has been arranged for peace to reign in Sierra Leone. If true, ECOMOG are therefore here to make neither SLPP, nor APC rule for more than 10 years. In that case, SLPP, the non- compliant, will meet their Waterloo from ECOMOG when the time comes for them to leave and they refuse, like in 2028. This is my understanding of the coming of ECOMOG from putting all the statements from ECOWAS in their right perspectives. But to overthrow Maada Bio and give power to the APC under the present circumstances? I doubt that very much. (Photo: At the UN Security Council in New York last year).

ECOMOG told Samuel Doe to leave in 1990, though they were not the Supreme Court of Liberia, because Doe had lost his authority through war, as the NPFL and INPFL rebels had taken most of the country, except the Executive Mansion. There was no longer a government in power and Liberia had lost control of its borders and its sovereignty. Therefore, ECOMOG decided to overstep its mandate to ask Doe to leave so that a neutral interim government would be imposed as it was the only way peace would have been restored. Doe refused and a plot was hatched to lure him to the Freeport of Liberia, the ECOMOG headquarters, where he was captured and disposed of. The big mistake APC made was to return to Parliament and governance, participate in the sham Tripartite and accept and join SLPP to present to Maada Bio the 80 recommendations.
Bio and America outsmarted and fooled us. It is a painful fact to bear. It is a bitter pill to swallow but we have to move our party forward. They outsmarted us with our own connivance. Nothing else will l be gained continuing this fight. I want electoral justice more than you who might misunderstand this article. BUT YOU CAN’T EAT YOUR CAKE AND HAVE IT. Let us be honest. We have blown it. Let us therefore move on and concentrate on returning to power in 2028. If we refuse to move on, fail to restructure our party, solidify our bases and put the right people and structures in place to win the 2028 elections, it will be another heartbreak in four years. If by our own negligence to do the needful and we lose the 2028 elections, we will get no support even from the international community who failed us even when we were cheated in 2023.
