Curfew or No Curfew, Sierra Leoneans will Protest on September 11 to Restore People’s Votes
Quick Summary
The restoration of the people’s mandate from September 11 onwards will go ahead whether the confused.com Bio regime imposes a curfew or not.
The majority of suffering Sierra Leoneans will not relent in their drive to protest on September 11. There is reliable a rumour filtering around that the jittery SLPP regime of Julius Maada Bio is planning to impose a curfew for four days in a row ostensibly to disrupt the September 11 demonstration. But nothing whatsoever will disrupt the people’s will to demonstrate. Sierra Leoneans are more determined than ever before to take to the streets on Monday, September 11 to highlight their genuine grievances against the human rights abusers at State House. Sierra Leoneans will not obey any curfew because Maada Bio is illegitimate and there is no State of Emergency. (Photo: Maada and his criminal wife Fatima are afraid of protests).
Whatever the evil intentions of the Maada Bio regime whether to impose a curfew or cut off internet facilities in Sierra Leone, nothing will stop the people from exercising their democratic rights and duties as citizens of Sierra Leone to protest. The confused.com SLPP regime of Bio does not want any protest to take place because they know that would be the beginning of the end of their illegitimate regime. It is sad that protest is a capital offence under Maada Bio. More so, the presence of the international community in Sierra Leone on a fact-finding mission regarding the disputed June 24 elections is also bad news for Maada Bo. Sierra Leoneans will not obey any curfew because Maada Bio is illegitimate and there is no State of Emergency.
Sierra Leoneans are however determined to go ahead with Monday’s protest despite the artificial SLPP hurdles on the way. At 8 O’clock sharp, all patriotic citizens are expected to come out in full force, peacefully of course with no weapons, and occupy the streets in their surroundings. The capital city Freetown and the northern parts of the country (APC strongholds) are expected to be thronged with protesters on Monday, even though people in the southeast (SLPP strongholds) are also determined to step out and strike on September 11. Sierra Leoneans will not obey any curfew because Maada Bio is illegitimate and there is no State of Emergency. Apparently, the September 11 protest has shattered Maada Bio and his crop of corrupt SLPP politicians’ devious plans to hold on to power so much that they are presently going around dishing out hefty sums of money to bribe key stakeholders to prevent them from taking part in the imminent protest. The SLPP bribing spree will however not prevent the people from striking. The suffering masses, who are in the majority, will not boycott the demonstration on Monday. Bio has also targeted Paramount Chiefs to convince the people in their chiefdoms to boycott the people’s protest. Sierra Leoneans will not obey any curfew because Maada Bio is illegitimate and there is no State of Emergency.
Moreover, the heads of the Sierra Leone Motor Union, the Bike Union, etc. have also been targeted with heavy bribes. Traders who have decided to lock up their stores on protest day for their own safety are also targeted by the Bio agents. Bio’s wicked agents are going around threatening businessmen and women not to join the Monday, September 11 protest. The businesses have been told that if they fail to open their stores as usual on Monday, they will face heavy penalties from the government. As of now, all is falling on deaf ears as most people are suffering serious hardship as prices of goods skyrocket on a daily basis. Sierra Leoneans will not obey any curfew because Maada Bio is illegitimate and there is no State of Emergency.
Corrupt Bio officials have continued to lie to the international community that the people voted for them on June 24 and have accepted them. They say that is why the citizens are quiet and going about their normal businesses. That is why Bio does not want the September 11 protest. One of the idiotic SLPP parliamentarians Ibrahim Tawa Conteh even insulted the US government by telling them not to interfere in Sierra Leone. “We are a democracy. Sierra Leone will not take democracy lessons from America,” the arrogant Tawa blurted in Parliament recently. Sierra Leoneans will not obey any curfew because Maada Bio is illegitimate and there is no State of Emergency.
Nevertheless, Sierra Leoneans are not deterred as they will take lessons from Burkina Faso where the youths took back their country after protesting against the corrupt regime out of power. The momentum is mounting for the protest. Sierra Leoneans have been urged to come out to tell the world that Bio stole the June 24, 2023 elections. The elections were won by the main opposition APC party led by Dr Samura Kamara. But Bio overturned the result with the help of Mohamed Kenewui Konneh, the Chairman of the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone ECSL. “Curfew or no curfew, we will protest,” citizens vow. Sierra Leoneans will not obey any curfew because Maada Bio is illegitimate and there is no State of Emergency.
