Bloody Hands of Bio, Lansana Gberie, Others Tarnish the Good Image of the 75th Anniversary of the Geneva Conventions

Quick Summary

The global reputation of the 75th Anniversary of the Geneva Conventions has been dented by the bloody hands of Maada Bio and his SLPP cohorts.

It was an eyesore to see the admission of bloodthirsty SLPP regime officials sitting innocently at the long conference table in the recent 75th Anniversary of the Geneva Conventions in Switzerland. The vexations harboured by most Sierra Leoneans inside and outside Sierra Leone against the inhuman SLPP regime of the illegal President Julius Maada Bio are real, factual, continuous and painful. Yet, these SLPP guys pretend to be democrats when actually, they are evil, corrupt and human rights violators. (Photo: Dr Lansana Gberie, right, and Timothy Kabbah, centre).

The majority of suffering Sierra Leoneans are always saddened to see cruel SLPP officials representing Sierra Leone abroad at this crucial moment of the country’s undemocratic history. The 75th Anniversary of the Geneva Conventions held in Switzerland on Monday, August 26, 2024 is no exception. The presence of SLPP Foreign Minister Timothy Musa Kabbah and SLPP Ambassador Dr Lansana Gberie in Switzerland smears the good image of what the Geneva Convention represents. Yet, these SLPP guys pretend to be democrats when actually, they are evil, corrupt and human rights violators.

What an irony to see bloodthirsty SLPP bandits in a Geneva Convention conference! Take a glance at the cardinal principle of the Geneva Conventions – Protection of Civilians. Civilians are protected from murder, torture, brutality, and discrimination based on race, nationality, religion, or political opinion. The Geneva Conventions of 1949 are a set of international laws that establish how civilians and soldiers should be treated during armed conflict, according to Wikipedia. Maada Bio’s SLPP caboodle has violated all democratic rights of citizens. Yet, these SLPP guys pretend to be democrats when actually, they are evil, corrupt and human rights violators.

The Geneva Conventions were adopted in response to the experiences of World War II and are still in effect today. The Swiss businessman Henry Dunant was inspired to propose the Geneva Conventions after visiting wounded soldiers following the Battle of Solferino in 1859, quoting Wikipedia. The 75th Anniversary of the Geneva Conventions held on August 26, 2024 has therefore demeaned the essentiality of its ideals by allowing Maada Bio’s regime to attend. Yet, these SLPP guys pretend to be democrats when actually, they are evil, corrupt and human rights violators.

Dr Lansana Gberie, a brilliant writer is the SLPP Ambassador to Switzerland since 2018, and a strong ally of the bloodthirsty Maada Bio presidency. Many people do not know who Lansana Gberie truly is. He got his PHD by stepping on the blood of innocent Sierra Leoneans after the height of the 11 years of the bloody civil war. Lansana Gberie was one of the leading SLPP propagandists who covertly contributed to mislead the late Minister of Justice Solomon Berewa. Yet, these SLPP guys pretend to be democrats when actually, they are evil, corrupt and human rights violators. (Photo: Geneva).

As well as Attorney General, everyone remembers Solomon Berewa’s evil role in the arbitrary executions of 24 innocent Sierra Leone Army Officers in 1998. And dozens of civilians were also charged with treason in the aftermath of the AFRC junta regime of Major Johnny Paul Koroma. Many innocent journalists were also arrested and detained at the notorious and filthy Pademba Road Prisons on the false accusations of collaboration. The former News Editor of the Expo Times newspaper late Mr Conrad Roy was among those arrested. Yet, these SLPP guys pretend to be democrats when actually, they are evil, corrupt and human rights violators.

And Abu Shaw, the editor and publisher of the Organiser newspaper was the Production Manager of Expo Times newspaper and he too was detained for 10 months. It was during those dark days that Lansana Gberie showed his true colours against his Expo Times colleagues. Then known as Lans Gberie, he wrote articles to worsen the situation of innocent journalists put behind bars by the brutal Tejan Kabbah’s regime after ECOMOG forces removed the AFRC Junta boys from power. Hundreds of innocent citizens were apprehended and wrongly charged with collaboration and treason. Yet, these SLPP guys pretend to be democrats when actually, they are evil, corrupt and human rights violators.

Lansana Gberie was a columnist for Expo Times newspaper before and during the AFRC reign. After ECOMOG ousted the AFRC Junta, Lans Gberie used his SLPP connection and tribal affiliation to inflict unbearable pains on his media colleagues rather than use his mighty pen to advocate for their release. Late media colleague Conrad Roy would never forgive Lans Gberie after he read Gberie’s half-page article in the Concord Times newspaper where he poured fuel on the fire instead of advocating for his imprisoned Expo Times colleagues. Yet, these SLPP guys pretend to be democrats when actually, they are evil, corrupt and human rights violators.

Innocent Mr Conrad Roy died in prison after he was ridiculously charged with treason. It was one of the darkest days at the overcrowded Pademba Road Prison where Conrad Roy and Abu Shaw were detained unjustly. When they read Lans Gberie’s article that unforgettable day, it was like a red hot iron rod had been pierced into their hearts. Both journalists cried and Conrad Roy, (may his soul rest in perfect peace), shook his head uncontrollably as tears ran down his cheeks. Despair was written all over the faces of the downtrodden Conrad and Abu. Yet, these SLPP guys pretend to be democrats when actually, they are evil, corrupt and human rights violators.  (Photo: Geneva).

That article by Lans Gberie did not help Conrad and Abu in any way especially coming from somebody whom they referred to as a media colleague at the then award winning Expo Times newspaper in the mid-90s. With all the personal benefits Lans Gberie accrued from the Expo Times – it was at Expo Times that Lans Gberie became famous and started corresponding with foreign media outlets through telexes – yet, he never once wrote a single paragraph to advocate for his jailed colleagues despite his close association with the Tejan Kabbah’s SLPP regime. Yet, these SLPP guys pretend to be democrats when actually, they are evil, corrupt and human rights violators.

Abu Shaw will also never forgive or forget what this brilliant writer but bloody PhD holder Lansana Gberie did to his two detained Expo Times colleagues. The last time Abu Shaw saw Lans Gberie was at the Gatwick International Airport in London around 2002 or 2003. Abu saw the fat body of Lans coming towards him and smiling. Abu moved in the opposite direction quickly away from Lans Gberie. Then Lans Gberie called out “Bakar, Bakar” (only close associates and family members call Abu Shaw by that name) but Abu just trod on avoiding to speak to Lans Gberie. The dark memories of Conrad Roy crying in jail flooded back afresh. Yet, these SLPP guys pretend to be democrats when actually, they are evil, corrupt and human rights violators.

Yet, last week, in Geneva Switzerland, the fat boy Dr Lansana Gberie was seen sitting comfortably in the co-host conference to observe the 74th Anniversary of the Geneva Conventions. What an irony to have a great pretender like Dr Lansana Gberie who has blood on his hands just like his paymaster Maada Bio attending the Geneva Convention. But God Almighty will surely revenge for late the brother Conrad Roy. Dr Lansana Gberie is partly responsible for Conrad’s death. Yet, these SLPP guys pretend to be democrats when actually, they are evil, corrupt and human rights violators. Below is an SLPP press statement from Geneva –

Sierra Leone and Switzerland Co-Host Panel on the 75th Anniversary of the Geneva Conventions

Geneva, Switzerland, Monday, August 26, 2024 – Today, a significant panel discussion was co-hosted by the Governments of Sierra Leone and Switzerland at the Palais des Nations in Geneva to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Geneva Conventions. The event, titled “75 Years of the Geneva Conventions: A Renewed Commitment to Upholding International Humanitarian Law,” brought together esteemed representatives from the United Nations Security Council, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and various humanitarian organizations. His Excellency, Alhaji Timothy Musa Kabba, Sierra Leone’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, delivered a poignant keynote address, reflecting on the enduring significance of the Geneva Conventions and the principles of International Humanitarian Law (IHL). Alhaji. Kabba shared personal insights, recalling his own experience as a child soldier during Sierra Leone’s brutal civil war in the 1990s. He credited the ICRC with playing a crucial role in his recovery and reintegration into society, underscoring the importance of humanitarian aid and international cooperation in post-conflict recovery.

“Standing here today as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation is a testament both to the salutary effects of humanitarianism and to the great need for multilateral cooperation,” Kabba stated. He emphasized Sierra Leone’s journey from a nation ravaged by war to one committed to peace and justice, driven by a deep appreciation for the principles enshrined in the Geneva Conventions. Minister Kabba noted the increasing violations of International Humanitarian Law worldwide, including attacks on civilians and humanitarian personnel, the targeting of healthcare facilities, and the denial of aid to those in desperate need.

He called for stronger global efforts to ensure compliance with the Geneva Conventions and to hold violators accountable. “Today, as we reflect on the journey thus far, we must also renew our commitment to these foundational principles that safeguard human dignity in times of armed conflict,” Kabba urged. He commended Switzerland for its leadership in the adoption of Security Council Resolution 2730 (2024), which calls on states to respect and protect United Nations and humanitarian personnel in accordance with their obligations under international law. Alhaji Timothy Musa Kabba closed the session with a message of hope and determination: “Let us pledge to strengthen our efforts to protect civilians, respect the rights of prisoners of war, and ensure that humanitarian aid reaches those in need. The principles enshrined in the Geneva Conventions are not merely legal obligations; they are moral imperatives that reflect our shared humanity.” Representatives from the ICRC and various UN Security Council member states echoed Kabba’s sentiments, emphasizing the critical role of the Geneva Conventions in shaping modern humanitarian principles and calling for collective action to address current challenges in upholding these laws. Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, President of the ICRC, reiterated the need for a renewed commitment to humanitarian principles amid an increasingly volatile global landscape.

“The 75th anniversary of the Geneva Conventions reminds us that wars must have limits, and that respect for human dignity and compassion must always guide our actions,” she stated. As the panel concluded, there was a unanimous call for increased collaboration among states, international organizations, and civil society to strengthen the framework of International Humanitarian Law and ensure its effective implementation. The event underscored the ongoing need for global solidarity in upholding the Geneva Conventions and protecting the most vulnerable in times of conflict, as participants pledged to carry forward the legacy of these critical humanitarian laws.

ECOWAS Summit Update: Cocaine Bio is Scared of Handing the ECOWAS Chair to Senegal President Faye; Bio Prefers Anglophone to Francophone Successor!

The illegal Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio, who publicly stole the June 24, 2023 general and presidential elections, is a confused man today. Cocaine King Maada Bio is not only disoriented and jittery at this point when ECOWAS commissioners are in Freetown for the 69th summit, but Bio’s SLPP regime is entirely on the brink of causing more confusion within the ECOWAS commission. The illegitimate Sierra Leone President Bio is shamefully dragging his feet over the handing over of the ECOWAS chairmanship to the rightful individual, in the person of Senegalese President Bassirou Faye, who should have got it since last year when Bio bribed to get it. Diplomatic sources have hinted that Maada Bio, the current ECOWAS chairman who dubiously secured the position last year by bribing Nigerian President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, is not planning to transfer the ECOWAS chair to President Faye. ECOWAS leaders are expected in Freetown on July 19, 2026.

EBK’s Fake Freedom Won’t Distract EJ Win; His Arrest for Betraying Democracy Looms; Tinubu Happy to See EBK’s Back; Hope He Returns Sooner to Face Citizens

The fake freedom suspiciously arranged for Ernest Bai Koroma EBK is not only a fruitless distraction, but EBK’s immediate return will suit 2023 voters. It is a massive trump card indeed, especially for electoral justice campaigners who will eventually see judicial revenge for those who undermine the June 24, 2023, general and presidential elections. EBK is obviously the first accused and chief architect of selling the 2023 votes to his cocaine paymaster, Julius Maada Bio. That is why the dubious freedom dished out to cruel EBK by the electoral commander-in-thief Julius Maada Bio is wholeheartedly welcomed by electoral justice EJ fighters whose main ambition is to restore democracy and to put on trial the betrayers of the people’s mandate. At first glance, it is clear that EBK’s recent freedom, granted by the corrupt SLPP and APC parliamentarians, is a high-class trap for him. The dramatic overturning of the ridiculous treason charge against EBK in parliament, rather than in the High Court, is a monumental blunder, deception and distraction.
