Julius Maada Bio’s assassins have killed nearly 5000 citizens since 2018. August 2022 was a gloomy month that Sierra Leoneans would never forget or forgive as the murderous SLPP regime of Maada Bio went on the rampage, systematically killing innocent citizens whose only crime was standing up for their democratic rights. For citizens to exercise their national rights and duties, like peaceful protests and advocating for justice on social media audios, is today a capital offence under the barbaric, autocratic rule of the tyrannical and illegal President Bio since 2018 when his SLPP/Paopas took power. Many innocent people have lost their lives as a result.

From August 8, 9, 10, and 14, 2022, disgruntled Sierra Leoneans took to the streets to protest peacefully against Maada Bio’s dictatorial governance. In the process, dozens of citizens, mostly youths, were butchered to death by Bio’s Kamajor police and soldiers. The August 2022 protests were widely propagated by the then-popular social media activist Abdul Kamara, alias Adebayor (now turned traitor), based in Holland, with the full assistance of vibrant social media activists based in Sierra Leone. But Bio’s brutal Kamajor security forces opened live bullets at the protesters.

Then came August 14, 2022, that was the day the Sierra Leone social media came to a standstill when the sad news emerged that the leading social media blogger at the time, the fearless and eloquent APC media blogger Mr Hassan Bangura aka Evangelist Samson, RIP, was publicly assassinated by Bio’s brutal security forces. Like other victims, Samson’s corpse was cannibalised, his organs harvested and sold by Bio’s cannibals.

Yet, the inhuman Maada Bio shamelessly lied that Evangelist Samson was shot in crossfire, a big lie that was subsequently exposed. The fact is that the irate soldiers shot Samson in the back of his leg while he was running away to escape, but sadly, they left him to bleed to death in their pickup truck as they drove around for over one hour. Investigations have shown that Bio’s assassins have secretly murdered most of the 5000 compatriots.

Before August 2022, there were incidents of genocide in the northwest, the APC strongholds. In 2020 alone, mass killings took place in Makeni, Lunsar, Tombo, Thonko Limba, Mile 91 and at Pademba Road Prisons in Freetown. The rest, they say, is sad history. But today, thanks to the Tripartite Agreement championed by the President-Elect, Dr Samura Kamara, there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel.

The imminent restoration of constitutional rule and social justice shall be a reality very shortly. It means that, with the determined efforts of the international community to restore democracy, the month of August 2025 would likely usher in Freedom Day in Sierra Leone. And those who lost their precious lives in exercising their rights shall be remembered as heroes and heroines. (Photos: August 2022 protest, over 21 people killed that day).

Moreover, after August 2022, the useless APC majority leader in Parliament, Chernor RM Bah, aka Chericoco, as representative at the ECOWAS Parliament, never mentioned the mass killings in Makeni, Tombo, Thonko Limba, Lunsar, Mile 91, Pademba Road Prison when he addressed ECOWAS Parliament. The idiot kept silent on the issue.

Instead, Chericoco accused the 2022 peaceful protesters of causing the violence on August 8, 9, and 10, protest. Chericoco also blamed the protesters for killing six SLPP police officers. The sell-out APC executives, like Chericoco were only interested in their selfish agenda rather than serving the people. This was happening with the full blessing of the former President Ernest Koroma, who is still supporting the bad politicians to betray the people. Now, everyone knows that Ernest is the most evil politician Sierra Leone has ever produced.

As Sierra Leoneans mourn the senseless deaths of Evangelist Samson and other compatriots since 2018, including the murders of APC nurse Mahawa Dumbuya, White Boy at the APC head office in Freetown in 2023, calls for the SLPP killers to face justice get louder. Also, it is documented that Dr Samura Kamara survived four assassination attempts. Thank God, electoral justice and the transition have succeeded. It’s only a matter of time.
