The bravest who often publicly criticise the inadequacies of the Bio regime are either nabbed, detained or killed. And those who display cowardice to toe the line for a pittance are given kudos for their blind support. (Photo: Bio’s fear factor regime has failed woefully).

Maada Bio is cruelly using fear as a weapon to scare off compatriots who believe in democracy, which Maada Bio dislikes. North Korea of Kim Jong Un is a far better country to live in than present-day Sierra Leone under the auspices of the illegal President Bio.

The dictator Kim Jong Un is known worldwide as a tyrannical despot whose belief in communism for his country, North Korea, is a foregone conclusion. North Korea has been described as a pariah state because Kim Jong Un does not hide behind democracy.

Unlike the tyrant in the West African state of Sierra Leone, called Julius Maada Bio, who is hiding under the democratic umbrella to unleash his venom against his own people, especially those who oppose his maladministration, Bio is the chief of evil forces. (Photo: Bio is a failure).

Sierra Leoneans have never been subjected to such humiliation as they are under the despotic regime of Maada Bio, who stole the June 24, 2023, multi-tier elections in broad daylight. Since then, Bio has consistently used fear tactics to subject the people to submission.

Afraid to speak out and also visibly scared to criticise the bad governance of the Bio presidency has become the norm rather than the abnormal. And cleverly, Maada Bio successfully continues to hide under the democratic hat to rule by fear and subjugation.

What is fear? According to Wikipedia, fear is an unpleasant subjective emotional state arising in response to perceived dangers or threats, and which, when experienced, is typically associated with physiological and psychological changes.

Ruling a country by the fear weapon has been the format employed by the barbaric SLPP regime of Maada Bio to force the patriotic citizens in to silence. A silence that is so deafening it has misconstrued the people’s silence as acceptance of Bio’s dirty politics.

Do not criticise the Bio regime if you want freedom and safety. Because if you do, you will end up being beaten, arrested, detained and most times assassinated by the blood-soaked SLPP security called Kamajors in police and military uniforms.

People are worried that they will never be free as long as Bio is in power. That is why the patriotic citizens are leaning heavily on the almighty Tripartite Agreement to come to their rescue. And surely, truly, very shortly the President-elect, Dr Samura Kamara, will take power. (Photo: President-elect Dr Samura Kamara).

And indeed, the 85 recommendations, including the global partners’ conclusive position, are being implemented despite the snail-paced movement of the process caused by the Bio regime, as they refused to hand over power peacefully.

Instead of leaving power peacefully, Bio continues to use his oppressive police and soldiers to suppress the people from standing up for their election results. And Bio is using the weaponisation of fear to rule and subjugate dissenting voices. Bio has failed so far.

The relentlessness of the international community in pursuing the Tripartite Agreement to its logical conclusion is a hopeful sign that eventually democracy shall return through the restoration of democracy process. It is just a matter of time before freedom returns.

This is because the fear factor deployed by the electoral thief, Maada Bio, did not affect a large section of the Sierra Leone communities, especially the gallant Council of the APC Social Media Activists Home and Abroad, supported by the Grassroots and Dr Samura Kamara.
