Abu Shaw London
Today Marks 4 Months Since the Passing of EJ Champion Ali Smiling in Heaven Knowing Dr Samura has Won; RIP, Manager
Quick Summary
Four months ago today, Sierra Leone lost the unsung hero in Ali Yassin Junior. Thursday, October 23, 2025 was a sad day for electoral justice, families, loved ones.
This is because the unsung hero for electoral justice, Ali Yassin Junior, sadly passed away in London, a death that sent shockwaves inside and outside Sierra Leone. The twenty-third of every month will always be in the minds of loved ones, close friends, and family members. When one of the leading unsung heroes of electoral justice, Junior Yassin, passed away at Guy’s Hospital in London, it was a chapter that closed so prematurely, considering the pivotal role Junior Yassin had played in actualising the success of Electoral Justice EJ and the removal of dictator Julius Maada Bio. Today, February 23, 2026, cannot go unnoticed without mentioning this true son of Sierra Leone, Jay-Man, who dedicated his colourful life to mobilising and encouraging many compatriots who had lost faith in the fight to democraticise Sierra Leone. Secretly and publicly, Mr Ali Yassin propelled the EJ course.
Junior Yassin’s sudden death was shocking not only as a sports-loving, friendly, honest, generous, kind-hearted and patriotic person, but because the popular Junior Yassin rose to the challenge to make sure the restoration of democracy in Sierra Leone became a reality. What a fantastic role he played: a low profile, behind the scenes, by using his international contacts to pull the strings positively. And luckily, the Organiser newspaper, which Junior Yassin managed until his early death, benefited immensely from his exclusive sources and contacts.
As if he knew his days on earth were numbered, Manager Junior Yassin, 57, had the vision to introduce impeccable national and global sources to the Organiser newspaper publisher and editor, a move that is today paying positive dividends in getting exclusives and privileged information.
Thank you, Manager Junior Yassin, for your vision and foresight. Without a doubt, the late Junior Yassin will be happy in heaven seeing the success of electoral justice, a baby he silently nurtured and cared for so much more than many Sierra Leoneans can think of. Rest in Peace Manager Ali Yassin Jr.
The pain of Jay Man’s passing is still fresh today, as it was four months ago. Three days before his death, a telephone call that sent chills down my spine came from social media blogger Commander Kabelai’s wife, Queen Amina of Zaria: “Aunty Kadie Dey Cry Ooh. (Photos: Yassin’s coffin carried at the Brixton Mosque).

“We Nor Able Tok Sef. I think somebody is really sick,” Queen Amina told me. My heart sank, palpitated with an intensity I rarely experienced before. Straight away, my mind went to my manager, Ali Yassin, whom I knew had been admitted to Guy’s Hospital in London.
“I hope it’s not him, I hope it’s not him,” I murmured prayerfully to Queen Amina. A few minutes later, Aunty Kadie called and, in tears, confirmed the shocking news: “Den don gee Uncle Junior 72 hours to live.” Aunty Kadie in the UK, wife of Mr Alieu Sesay Tuptup Azomta, dropped the bombshell.
Shocked and in disbelief, overwhelmed, I hoped that Almighty God would change the doctors’ diagnosis. Those three days of waiting for the inevitable were the longest in my 62 years on earth. May God push such shocking situations far away from us. Ameen, Amen. (Photos: Mourners at the funeral home in London).

Especially for electoral justice fighters who are the genuine patriots trying to free Sierra Leone from the claws of the barbarians in the SLPP regime. No surprise, social media activist Koroma Plus cried openly in his audio following the painful death of soulmate Junior Yassin.
Manager Yassin was laid to rest on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Kamnel Park Garden of Eden Cemetery in Chislehurst after the Janaza prayers at the Brixton Mosque were conducted. Later that night, mourners from around the world gathered at Forest Hill Hall to pay their respects. RIP Manager as Sierra Leoneans wait for President-elect Dr Samura Kamara to take power shortly.
Even in his sickbed, two weeks before his death, my manager Junior Yassin, in his usual unmistakable bass voice, reassured me optimistically: “Abu Shaw, We Don Win Dis Fight Boo. Nor Worry. Nar Jus a Matter of Time Befur Dr Samura Kamara Go Take Een Victory.”
