Reliable sources have intimated last night that the first batch of the troops from the Economic Community of West African States shall land today.
It was late last night that this breaking news from the United States was forwarded to the newsroom of the Organiser.net newspaper. Frantic efforts were made to crosscheck the information to authentic the veracity of the source. All the contacts contacted in Freetown, Abuja, New York last night unhesitatingly confirmed the truthfulness of the information. The sources have also revealed that the first batch of the ECOWAS Mission for Sierra Leone ECOMISIL is expected to land at the Hastings Airfield this morning at around 10 am. The same sources say the troops are also expected to arrive by sea and land as well in the next days. “Do not be surprised to see submarine emerged from the Atlantic Ocean,” one of the sources from USA hinted.
All the Force Commanders for the four strategically selected locations namely Kerry Town, Hastings Airfield, Lungi Depot and Murray Town and Aberdeen axis have been on the ground for weeks now preparing the tactically selected sites for the deployment of the 1,200 troops in capital Freetown and its environs. Today’s imminent arrival is hastened by the removal of Dr Samura Kamara’s personal security.

Last night an audio purporting to come from the Rogbanba Head Man Alhaji Saidu Tonko Kamara said: “I got a call from the Hastings Airfield Management to confirm that the first flight will land at around 10am. The soldiers are warning all community people using the H Q Road to use the back road between 6 am and 8am and latest 9am sharp.
“After 9am, they would not allow anybody to use the road. Everybody should keep off until the first flight lands,” Alhaji Tonko Kamara noted. Meanwhile, it is not clear if more flights will land today at the Lungi International Airport. Also, the withdrawal of Dr Samura Kamara’s security paved the way to hasten the expected arrival of the ECOWAS forces.
