SLPP Shames Sierra Leone Again: Ladies’ National Football Team, Sierra Queens, Abandoned in Mauritania, After Winning Cup

Quick Summary

The shameless and strikingly corrupt SLPP regime of the illegal President Maada Bio regime has disgraced Sierra Leone again on the international stage.

Every day, every hour, every minute, every second, you hear embarrassing stories about Sierra Leone under Maada Bio. Innocent Sierra Leoneans from different disciplines have been repeatedly caught in this web of deceit and international shame. (Photo: Sierra Queens, WAFU Champions, need special honour).

This time, the latest victims are the country’s national football team, Sierra Queens. These patriotic football ladies, who represented Sierra Leone in Mauritania and won the finals as champions, are stranded in a foreign land for no justifiable reason.

Sources say Sierra Queens, the West African Football Union WAFU champions, are the only team remaining in Mauritania, where the tournament was hosted. All the other foreign teams have flown back to their respective nations, leaving our ladies in abject neglect.

The international embarrassment is too much to bear for these heroic girls and, by extension, the entire country itself. How come Bio’s shameless regime could not afford an air flight for these national treasures, whose only crime is representing their beloved Sierra Leone?

This national and international ridicule is not the first time the corrupt SLPP/Paopa regime has neglected national sporting teams. Leone Stars, the men’s national football team, has been embarrassed countless times. Bio’s Sports Ministry and the Sierra Leone Football Association are among the most hopeless sporting entities.

Mauritania hosted the tournament from 18 to 31 May 2025, marking the first-ever women’s international football competition to take place in the country. Senegal were the two-time former champion. But today, Sierra Queens, our darlings, are WAFU Champs. More details thus –

Shame on Bio for Abandoning Our Darling Champions, Sierra Queens in Mauritania

By Gibril Bangura

Recent reports from credible sources highlight a concerning situation involving the national women’s soccer team of Sierra Leone, currently under the administration of the SLPP, which many criticise as an illegitimate government. (Photo: Powerless Maada Bio does not care for the people).

This moment marks a significant achievement for our female athletes, who have reached unprecedented heights in their tournament journey. Unfortunately, while all the other participating teams have returned safely to their home countries, our beloved Queens are stranded in a remote area of Mauritania, facing dire circumstances.

The treatment of our team is not only appalling but also raises serious questions about the values and priorities of our leadership. Despite frequent rhetoric from our leaders about investing in human capital, their actions reveal a stark contradiction. It is distressing to witness such disregard for the very athletes who have brought pride to our nation.

This failure is particularly shocking, considering that our country is endowed with abundant natural resources, including diamonds, iron ore, gold, rutile, and bauxite. It is bewildering to think that our talented female athletes are left to fend for themselves in a foreign land while the useless government neglects its responsibilities.

As we ponder the reasons behind this abandonment, we must consider whether it stems from deep-rooted tribal biases within our society or if it reflects the financial challenges the current government is grappling with. This situation calls for urgent action to bring our champions home NOW.

ECOWAS Summit Update: Cocaine Bio is Scared of Handing the ECOWAS Chair to Senegal President Faye; Bio Prefers Anglophone to Francophone Successor!

The illegal Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio, who publicly stole the June 24, 2023 general and presidential elections, is a confused man today. Cocaine King Maada Bio is not only disoriented and jittery at this point when ECOWAS commissioners are in Freetown for the 69th summit, but Bio’s SLPP regime is entirely on the brink of causing more confusion within the ECOWAS commission. The illegitimate Sierra Leone President Bio is shamefully dragging his feet over the handing over of the ECOWAS chairmanship to the rightful individual, in the person of Senegalese President Bassirou Faye, who should have got it since last year when Bio bribed to get it. Diplomatic sources have hinted that Maada Bio, the current ECOWAS chairman who dubiously secured the position last year by bribing Nigerian President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, is not planning to transfer the ECOWAS chair to President Faye. ECOWAS leaders are expected in Freetown on July 19, 2026.

EBK’s Fake Freedom Won’t Distract EJ Win; His Arrest for Betraying Democracy Looms; Tinubu Happy to See EBK’s Back; Hope He Returns Sooner to Face Citizens

The fake freedom suspiciously arranged for Ernest Bai Koroma EBK is not only a fruitless distraction, but EBK’s immediate return will suit 2023 voters. It is a massive trump card indeed, especially for electoral justice campaigners who will eventually see judicial revenge for those who undermine the June 24, 2023, general and presidential elections. EBK is obviously the first accused and chief architect of selling the 2023 votes to his cocaine paymaster, Julius Maada Bio. That is why the dubious freedom dished out to cruel EBK by the electoral commander-in-thief Julius Maada Bio is wholeheartedly welcomed by electoral justice EJ fighters whose main ambition is to restore democracy and to put on trial the betrayers of the people’s mandate. At first glance, it is clear that EBK’s recent freedom, granted by the corrupt SLPP and APC parliamentarians, is a high-class trap for him. The dramatic overturning of the ridiculous treason charge against EBK in parliament, rather than in the High Court, is a monumental blunder, deception and distraction.
