Even Russia, a country maligned by Western democratic nations because of the ongoing war in Ukraine, does not want to entertain Bio at public conferences. Several African Heads of State were invited to attend the Moscow Conference 2026, but Bio, for obvious reasons, was conspicuously absent from Russia. His rejection by Russia was not a surprise because the Bio regime was one of the nations at the UNGA that criticised Russia for the Ukraine war.

President Vladimir Putin does not forgive anyone who steps on his toes politically, etc. The Russian rejection is no surprise. What Bio did afterwards was a cover-up. He went to Senegal for the senseless Youth Sports ceremony at the same time the Moscow summit was going on. Pathetic.

The snobbery of the cocaine merchant Bio by Russia is a hammer blow to SLPP’s recognition by international partners. It is clear that Russia’s rejection will hurt Bio very much because he had wanted to show off that he is still recognised in the West. Bio’s regime is now a pariah state. And support from Russia, a superpower and a permanent member of the UN Security Council, would have boosted the morale of Bio’s bankrupt and rejected SLPP regime. More noisy vibes from traitorous SLPP/APC media would have been trumpeted on social media had Bio attended the Moscow Summit 2026.

Dozens of African presidents and prime ministers attended the Moscow conference, including South African leader Cyril Ramaphosa, Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa, and President of Egypt el-Sisi, among others. Bio was singled out by Moscow because he is not recognised globally.

What an embarrassment for the SLPP regime. Bio’s problems are many. His broad daylight thievery of the June 24, 2023, elections in Sierra Leone and his 100% involvement in the drug smuggling network worldwide, etc., are among the reasons for Bio’s rejection by Russia.

Meanwhile, it has emerged that Bio secretly recruited hundreds of Sierra Leoneans, Kamajors and Forest Guards to fight for Russia in Ukraine. Reports say countless Sierra Leoneans have died thus far, and Bio is keeping it a secret. (Photo: Putin poses with African leaders).

The financial rewards pouring into Bio’s pockets for these fighters in the Russia/Ukraine war are huge and kept secret from the families of those who have lost their lives unnecessarily. Sierra Leoneans deserve to know the whole truth about foreign deployments of citizens.

Recruiting for the Ukraine War

Russia’s recruitment of African citizens to fight in Ukraine has become a reputational liability. A recent investigation cited by African media outlets estimated that more than 3,000 African citizens from 40 countries were recruited into Russia’s armed forces between October 2022 and June 2026, often through deception and promises of civilian jobs. Bloomberg reported this week that Moscow has been widening its recruitment drive in countries including Zimbabwe, Burundi and Sierra Leone. African countries including Kenya and South Africa have sought to stop the recruitment of their citizens. During a visit to Moscow in April, Kenya’s foreign minister Musalia Mudavadi said that Moscow and Nairobi had agreed that Kenyan nationals would no longer be enlisted by Russia’s Ministry of Defence.
