State House and the Presidential Lodge, the residence of Maada Bio, have given strict instructions to these SLPP bandits to search every mobile phone and to make sure that any gadgets found with Apps associated with the main opposition APC party symbol or prominent social media critics like Adebayor, Gibril Bangura, APC Malayka, Mohamed Morieba, Mrsta Salone, Lansana APC, PRO Samura, People’s Power, Segbema Borbor, APC Encyclopedia, and so on must be arrested. These unlawful searches are not only happening in homes, the SLPP thugs are also frantically stopping passengers at every Check Points where innocent citizens’ mobile phones are seized, checked and browsed to look for any items they think are inimical and critical of the illegal Sierra Leone President Maada Bio. Any APC regalia or WhatsApp apps linking with social media critics is deemed a criminal offence. This latest human rights violation is worse than what is happening in North Korea, a pariah state where Kim Jung Un, the despotic leader, has done better than the madman of Sierra Leone. Before the fake coup on Sunday, November 26, 2023, the violent Bio presidency has not only committed extra-judicial killings of prisoners months ago, these Bio thugs are now ordered to carry out this well-planned harassment and intimidation of voters apparently to punish them for failing to vote for Maada Bio during June 24, 2023, general and presidential elections. Now, people are deleting critical Apps from their phones or changing their biological names just to prevent being arrested or embarrassed. The saddest part of this whole episode is that it is happening only in the north and northwest of the country (stronghold of the opposition APC party) and not in the southeast (stronghold of the SLPP regime). Ethnic cleansing, no doubt. The unlawful search and arrest of peoples’ homes is unbearable. People are now tired. Amid these unlawful searches, there are gunshots everywhere during the night curfew. Today, sadly, North Korea is here in Sierra Leone.
