For Maada Bio to stop flying from one country to another needlessly is good news for the people. No more wastage of public funds. This is an order made by the international community to the travel-mad and illegal Sierra Leone President Maada Bio who has set a world record for the most travelled Head of State since record began. And following Maada Bio’s recent dilly-dally to return from South Korea which created further delay in the work of the high powered international delegation, this new order is to make sure that unnecessary procrastination of this nature does not happen again. Jet-lag Maada Bio was reportedly taken aback when he was told about his stay at home until the current situation regarding the release of the Tripartite Committee recommendations are sealed and settled. Every internal and external stakeholder is eagerly awaiting the June 19 deadline which has been slated as the day the recommendations would be made public. Reports say the final outcome would not be favourable to the SLPP regime and that is the primary reason why worried Maada Bio has been dragging his feet.

As for most Sierra Leoneans especially the APC party supporters and ordinary citizens, it is celebration time and to have a good time, borrowing the lyrics from the famous Kool and the Gang band. The majority of the electorates know that they voted overwhelmingly for the APC leader Dr Samura Kamara but his victory was snatched by Maada Bio with the help of the crook Chairman of the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone ECSL Mohamed Konneh. ‘Pa Nar Flight’, the well-known name for Maada Bio, is now ‘Pa Stay Home’ to look after the country for once. Never in the history of Sierra Leone and the world have we seen a President like Maada Bio who has shuttled innumerable times around the world for no socio-economic benefits for the people. The late Queen travels had taken her to 110 countries across six continents. Her Majesty was the most travelled monarch in the world. Late Queen Elizabeth 11 who had travelled in her 70 years reign, cannot defeat the record achieved by Maada Bio who in just six years, has trotted nearly 300 times to over 60 nations. And Bio’s response to his citizens: “Your are jealous of me”.

Good gracious to the Tripartite investigations, the travel-colic Maada Bio has been banned from travelling out of the country until the Tripartite recommendations are released on or before June 19. Latest information say Maada Bio has been forced to sign all the documents he is supposed to sign and as we go to press, the only assignment remaining is for the head of the Tripartite Secretariat Judge Kate Sullivan from Australia to append her own signature and then release the recommendations of the Tripartite Committee. In a related development, Sierra Leoneans should note Maada Bio’s public utterances in recent times showing bravado. People have been urged to take such bravado at face value because what Maada Bio is doing behind the scenes to appeal for amnesty for himself and his family is quite different from his public speeches. The deceptive Bio is keeping the secret from his gullible Paopa supporters. The game is really up for Maada Bio and electoral thieves. Frankly, the people should get ready with their pot covers and any household utensils to celebrate the success of Dr Samura Kamara’s presidency.

Unlike the blind supporters of the SLPP regime who are feeling let down and despondent because of Tripartite, the majority of the people who are waiting for the recommendations are happy. It is time for the voters to celebrate victory. Kool and the Gang band comes to mind. Its famous lyrics go like this – Let’s all celebrate and have a good time; (Celebration) We gon’ celebrate and have a good time; It’s time to come together, It’s up to you, what’s your pleasure?
