Maada Bio has been told bluntly that there will be no more extensions, not even for one day, let alone for three months. “The transfer of power is not negotiable, and it shall be done on time this time around,” a diplomatic source confirmed last night.

Maada Bio is playing a dangerous game that has the propensity to damage his own political life and plunge the lives of his family into smithereens. The illegal president has stupidly begged for more time before he could hand over power.

ECOWAS and UNOWAS did not waste time in rejecting in no uncertain terms. Having noticed that the deadline is drawing nearer for the transfer of power, the manipulative Bio has resorted to delay tactics by demanding the international community to give him more time before handing the keys to Dr Samura Kamara.

The handover process is expected to happen shortly, very shortly, to be precise, according to the documents signed in Abuja that were witnessed by the ECOWAS Chairman Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is also the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

This is not the first time Bio has been given deadlines for the transition to take place and has woefully failed. The last failed date was January 22, when Bio was expected to hand over, but his dilly-dally attitude delayed the process.

As time is running out, the ECOWAS Commission has decided to conclude the Sierra Leone impasse on time by adopting electoral justice as soon as it possibly can. Meanwhile, Bio has already started implementing the latest instructions given to him by ECOWAS.
