Dear Sir,

New Security Bill Passed into Law by the Corrupt SLPP/APC Parliamentarians

The newly concocted Security Bill, enacted into law in the Sierra Leone Parliament by the Sierra Leone People’s Party SLPP is very dangerous for the country. A security framework designed to secure a few state personnel and the actors answerable only to the Commander- in-Chief, the President of Sierra Leone.

This enacted bill has the propensity to plunge the nation into more chaos again, similar to the unforgettable 11 years of senseless Rebel War that plunged and ravaged our country, resulting in the numerous deaths of our compatriots and the wholesale destruction of countless properties.

This is how the war was exacerbated when the late Chief Sam Hinga Norman, who happens to be the coordinator of the Civil Defence Forces CDF was appointed Deputy Minister of Defence. The late Chief was sympathetic, particularly to the KAMAJORS, and this brought an unholy rivalry over resources between the nation’s defence forces and the KAMAJORS.

The rest is now history, a history we’ve just forgotten so soon, and here we are again repeating the same craftsmanship, and with the attendant dangers of plugging our nation into another infamy in the enactment of such a dangerous bill, thus creating more security problems. No sooner than there is going to be some unhealthy competition and rivalry for state resources, and hence confrontations in the near future.

At this juncture, I therefore call on the International Community to accelerate the speedy restoration of democratic governance in Sierra Leone with the speedy implementation of the Tripartite Recommendations, as envisaged in the Agreement of National Unity [ANU], ultimately paving the way to the inauguration of the rightful presidential winner of the June 24, 2023, Presidential Elections, Dr Mathew Wilson Samura Kamara. The people of Sierra Leone are tired of the misrule, bad governance, and laws under the undemocratic, despotic, and illegal regime of Julius Maada Bio.
