ECOWAS Commission has boasted electoral justice by sending the Liberia President Joseph Boakai to Sierra Leone on his first visit since his election.
Unlike Maada Bio, who is illegitimate, President Joseph Baokai was duly elected. The real purpose of President Boakai’s visit has been kept under the wrap, but a source at State House says ECOWAS sent the Liberia President, 79, on a very important mission to Sierra Leone. But the illegal President Bio’s corrupt SLPP media are trying to hide the purpose of the visit as it is not in the favour of the Bio presidency. (Photo: Maada and Boakai yesterday in Freetown).
Competent sources have intimated that the visit centres around electoral justice as demanded by the Sierra Leone electorates which is the surest and only means by which peaceful democratic transformation can take place following the fraudulent June 24, 2023 general and presidential elections in Sierra Leone.
President Boakai’s visit is welcome news as far as the patriotic Sierra Leoneans are concerned, considering the circumstances of the volatile situation in Sierra Leone today. It is no surprise that the bogus SLPP media receiving monthly brown envelopes from Maada Bio are trying hard to bury the bad news delivered by President Boakai to Maada Bio. What is the main purpose of his visit? The true purpose of President Boakai’s visit, according to the usually reliable State House informant is to deliver the advice to Maada Bio on behalf of the ECOWAS Commission whose instruction was but not limited to admonishing the illegal President Bio to follow the 84 Tripartite Committee recommendations to the letter.
Upon arriving in Freetown by road from Monrovia on November 18, the meeting between the two leaders took place behind closed doors at State House. Vital information leaked from the meeting and the Organiser newspaper can authoritatively confirm the fantastic news, i.e. President Boakai advised Maada Bio to respect the outcome of the June 24, 2023 elections.
Even though, the Bio presidency and his Vuvuzelas are keeping the purpose of the historic visit close to their chests, President Boakai’s visit is good news for the Sierra Leone electorates whose votes were publicly stolen by Maada Bio last year in connivance with the crook chairman of the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone ECSL Mr Mohamed Kenewui Konneh.

Electoral justice was firmly on the menu as the Liberia leader made it abundantly clear that ECOWAS are serious about the Sierra Leone situation and advised Maada Bio to do everything necessary to resolve the electoral impasse peacefully by releasing the results. Those blaming ECOWAS for foot-dragging need a rethink here, as positive things are happening behind the scenes.
President Boakai arrived in Sierra Leone on Monday November 18, 2024, passing through Kenema town east of Sierra Leone and then to Bo town in the south of Sierra Leone and onwards to the capital Freetown in the north-western region of the country. Bio’s SLPP supporters are boasting that President Boakai’s visit was a sign of recognition for Bio’s illegal regime.
Patriotic citizens beg to differ, believing that the SLPP buffoons are still being misled. The fact of the matter is that President Boakai came primarily to warn Maada Bio to respect the results of last year’s elections. ECOWAS Commission, mandated by the United Nations Security Council to stabilise the fragile situation, sent President Boakai to his neighbour. (Photo: Dr Samura Kamara won last year’s elections).

The ECOWAS position on the Sierra Leone situation remains steadfast. They want electoral justice to take place as soon as possible to prevent renewed upheaval. Up to date, Maada Bio’s presidency is not recognised as no foreign leader or institution has congratulated Bio because all national and foreign election observers say the 2023 elections are not credible.
Last night, a joint statement from Boakai and Maada revealed thus: “The two heads of discussed the democratic challenges in the Mano River Union MRU and ECOWAS region and reaffirmed their commitment to support peaceful democratic transition of power in order to maintain peace and security in the region.” This shows that ECOWAS are for electoral justice.
President Boakai is a really modest and simple leader. He used his vehicles to travel to neighbouring Sierra Leone by road. While the extravagant and insecure, Maada Bio always uses private jets to travel to Guinea and Liberia. President Boakai has thought him how not to waste state resources.
