A major breakthrough is on the horizon amid good news that the ECOWAS Mission for Sierra Leone ECOMISIL forces shall land in Freetown soon. Happy times ahead.
This fantastic news is now going to be possible because all the four carefully selected sites done tactically and strategically are ready to welcome the ECOMISL troops to Sierra Leone in order to stabilise the country and most importantly to restore democracy and constitutional rule in the aftermath of the fraudulent June 24, 2023 elections stolen by Bio. Presently, Sierra Leoneans are angry that the illegal President Julius Maada Bio is still occupying State House despite publicly stealing last year’s elections from under the nose of the real winner Dr Samura Kamara of the main opposition APC party. However, there is optimism on the horizon for the imminent arrival of ECOMISIL to restore democracy.
Information filtering into the newsroom has hinted that the restoration of constitutional rule shall happen soon in Sierra Leone. This is the message coming from the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel UNOWAS via the Economic Community of West African States, charged with the full implementation of the 84 Tripartite recommendations.

The latest reports say, the deployment will take place any time from now at the four locations in Lungi and Freetown. Information gathered has confirmed that all the four sites, namely Lungi Depot, Kerry Town, Hastings Airfield, Murray Town/Aberdeen Axis, are ready to welcome the ECOWAS Forces. Watch towers are built in Kerry Town and Hastings Airfield.
This shows that all the four sites strategically and tactically selected have completed the reconstruction and renovation programmes in readiness to welcome the ECOWAS Troops. Reports say logistical problems have been the main cause of the delay in arrival and deployment of the ECOWAS soldiers in Sierra Leone. But things will change very soon.
Already, sources from Abuja have confirmed that the ECOWAS soldiers have assembled in a neighbouring country about two to three countries away to be precise, in full military gears ready to be deployed in Sierra Leone and are scheduled to take place very soon. The country in question where the troops have gathered will remain anonymous for security reasons.
Also, the mode of transportation for the ECOMISL troops to be used either by air, land or by sea will not be revealed for the same reason. As things stand, no amount of bribery and corruption by the illegal SLPP regime of Julius Maada Bio or high profile lobbying to delay or stop the deployment of ECOWAS forces would materialise. Electoral justice will win.
Restoring electoral justice in Sierra Leone is part of the ECOWAS mandate. As for Sierra Leoneans who are yearning to get electoral justice after the fraudulent June 24, 2023 elections publicly stolen by Maada Bio, they should feel optimistic as there is definitely light at the end of the tunnel thanks to ECOWAS and UNOWAS. UNOWAS boss Dr Leonardo Santos Simão of Mozambique, appointed May 2, 2023 as UN Secretary-General António Guterres new Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel UNOWAS and Chairman of the Cameroon-Nigeria Mixed Commission, served as Foreign Minister of Mozambique.
Restoring democracy in Sierra Leone has been the focal point of the ECOWAS Chairman who is also President of Nigeria Ahmed Bola Tinubu has reiterated that the ECOWAS commission will definitely fight for democracy and to restore constitutional rule despite any challenges from Sierra Leone.
Political observers say the game is over as soon as ECOWAS troops arrive. The signs of progress are clear. Citizens have been urged to prepare their placards to welcome the troops to Lungi, Kerry Town, Hastings and Murray Town, any time now. Maada is a worried man because he knows exactly where he has been trapped by the international community. No legitimacy for SLPP so far. And the sanctions on the SLPP regime have started biting.
