The brutal SLPP police officers rounded dozens of peaceful APC Grassroots supporters up during the Tuesday October 15, 2024 meeting between the international community and the APC party executives led by the most disgraceful National Chairman in Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray. It was the shameful APC National Secretary General Lansana Dumbuya who wrote the letter to the SLPP Inspector General of Police William Fayia Sellu to invite the violent SLPP police to harass the APC protesters at the APC Headquarters on 11 Old Railway Line. The presence of the SLPP police on that fateful day at the APC Head Office was a sad day for democracy.

Road blocks were erected in all the entrances leading to the environs of the APC offices. There was no free movement of people in the morning hours. And peaceful protesters had to hold their nerves by standing behind the police blockades and displayed posters and placards that heralded patriotic messages like ‘We Want Electoral Justice Now’ and so on. Even the campus of the nearby girls’ school, the Freetown Secondary School for Girls FSSG was bombarded with tear gas by SLPP police that forced the students to flee their school and went home earlier than scheduled. Also, dozens of APC protesters were apprehended and taken to SLPP police stations. Up to press time, the protesters are still behind bars.

Reports have also intimated that many of the peaceful APC protesters detained at the SLPP Criminal Investigations Department CID in Freetown are being subjected to persecutions and torture. Yesterday, the APC leader Dr Samura Kamara accompanied by his lawyer Frank Kargbo visited the CID and made inquiries about the conditions of detained APC supporters. It is understood that Dr Samura Kamara made arrangements for someone to prepare food for the detainees while the application for their release is completed. Meanwhile, the visits of officials of the disgraced APC Executives at the CID yesterday did not go down well with the broader APC membership because of the blatant hypocrisy shown by these APC sell-outs.

One of such traitor who visited the CID was the disgraced APC National Secretary General Lansana Dumbuya, the very idiot who wrote the letter to call the SLPP police chief IG Fayia Sellu to deploy SLPP police armed to the teeth at the APC Head Office where the meeting took place. SLPP police shot tear gas canisters and later arrested many APC protesters.

What happened on Tuesday when APC officials allowed SLPP police to come and harass and intimidate and eventually arrested protesters had never happened in APC history under any past APC executives? The current bunch of idiotic APC executives led by the evil Minkailu Mansaray is disappointing. And for them to visit CID is hypocrisy of the highest order.
