Many people would not physically see the tangible peaceful democratic transition of power process because it is being done behind the scenes by very significant internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis. For those fortunate to have an inkling of what is secretly transacting in close-door negotiations, it has emerged that a West African nation (unnamed for security reasons) is highly likely to offer the needed accommodation for the illegal President Julius Maada Bio.

There have been weeks of behind-the-scenes negotiations to find a suitable country where the illegitimate President Bio would seek refuge after quitting State House to pave the way for the peaceful transfer of power to the winner of the June 24, 2023 elections. (Photo: Bio has reportedly agreed).

Many countries around the world were sorted for the destination of the unelected President Maada Bio but none of those courted could provide the suitable sanctuary for the beleaguered Maada Bio and his immediate family.

Reports say even the great United States of America has refused to accept Maada Bio to seek an asylum in that country. Reports say Bio had insisted that he prefer to stay in America for obvious reasons, but he was flatly turned down.

Sources say attention for the search of a suitable country for Bio was subsequently shifted to Europe to see if any European country would be willing to accept him. Eventually, the searchers have to look near home in West Africa and immediately a country has emerged as the most likely destination for the corrupt Maada Bio and his family. The Organiser newspaper would not name the country for now. It is good news for the electorates in Sierra Leone.

The finding of a suitable country to house Bio and his family is the only hold up now for the immediate transition of power to take place. Meanwhile, Sierra Leoneans are hoping and praying that the transfer of power would happen anytime. Game is over. It’s just a matter of time.

It is obvious Maada Bio is scared of the International Criminal Court ICC and this has played a major role in his search for a destination. He wants America because the USA is not a member of the ICC and this would have prevented him from facing a genocide trial. But ECOWAS and UNOWAS are smarter.
