3-Day Dialogue Begins Today in Freetown; a Test Case for Global Partners to Stop Despots Like Bio
Quick Summary
Today October 16, 2023, the three-day Dialogue to restore democracy begins in earnest as the majority of Sierra Leoneans wait in bated breath.
Tension is obviously building towards this Dialogue which has left many citizens in suspense fearing for the worst nightmare that could lead to more chaos and insecurity in Sierra Leone if the right things are not done by the international community and mediators. There will surely be peace. security and development if the right solutions are achieved. The International Mediating Team comprised the African Union, the Economic Community of West Africa States ECOWAS, the Commonwealth, the European Union, the United States, the United Kingdom, and so on. Citizens demand ECSL to either release the disaggregated results or re-run the entire elections. Otherwise, a renewed civil war will emanate in Sierra Leone. The future of Sierra Leone lies in the hands of these mediators. Sierra Leone is longing for the restoration of democracy after it was publicly and cowardly stolen by the illegal Sierra Leone President Julus Maada Bio and his gang of electoral SLPP thieves. As a consequence of the usurpation of the June 24, 2023, general and presidential elections by Maada Bio’s criminal agents led by the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone ECSL chairman Mohamed Kenewui ‘Thief Man’ Konneh, the entire planet has condemned the outcome of the polls. Citizens demand ECSL to either release the disaggregated results or re-run the entire elections. Otherwise, a renewed civil war will emanate in Sierra Leone.
The international elections observers from the European Union EU, African Union AU, ECOWAS, United Kingdom UK, United States US, Carter Centre plus local National Elections Watch NEW, did not hide their disgusting feelings towards the Bio regime that shamefully stole the people’s mandate. It was clear that the June 24 elections were won by the main opposition APC party led by Dr Samura Kamara. Followed by economic, financial, and travel sanctions, the thieving SLPP regime was further strangulated by the APC party that boycotted and continues to boycott governance in protest of the electoral fraud. Citizens demand ECSL to either release the disaggregated results or re-run the entire elections. Otherwise, a renewed civil war will emanate in Sierra Leone. Now, the international community is in the country to mediate in the Dialogue between the antagonists and the protagonists to resolve the herculean task. So far, things are not rosy for the illegal Bio presidency after the latest EU Final Reports that finally nailed the SLPP coffin. Sierra Leoneans are optimistic that an appreciable solution will be reached after three days of Dialogue. A total re-run of the elections from Presidential to Mayoral, to Councillor, and to Chairpersons is the most popular resolution expected as far as the majority of Sierra Leoneans are concerned. Citizens demand ECSL to either release the disaggregated results or re-run the entire elections. Otherwise, a renewed civil war will emanate in Sierra Leone.
Additionally, the three-day historic Dialogue is going to be a test case for the international partners to defend democracy and restore the people’s mandate in Sierra Leone. Voters do not expect the mediators AU, ECOWAS, Commonwealth, and others to allow an electoral thief like Maada Bio to go scot-free. That would invariably be a dangerous precedent for other nations in Africa and around the world as they would follow suit during elections in their respective countries by sadly using Sierra Leone as a test case. Sierra Leone must be a good precedent for any other democrats to follow. If this fails, then it means autocrats and despots like Maada Bio would have triumphed over democracy. May God forbid. Citizens demand ECSL to either release the disaggregated results or re-run the entire elections. Otherwise, a renewed civil war will emanate in Sierra Leone.
