Today is Protest Day: Due to Global Pressure Bio Warns Police and Military Bosses Not to Shoot
Quick Summary
The illegitimate President Julius Maada Bio has given stern warnings to his police and military chiefs not to shoot protesters thanks to global pressure.
On the eve of the September 11 demonstrations, a major development took place behind the scenes when the beleaguered Sierra Leone leader Maada Bio astonishingly warned his trigger-happy soldiers and police officers to behave professionally by making sure they do not shoot any protesters commencing today. Police sources say the police hierarchy was shocked to hear Maada Bio’s stern warning yesterday. Even the military top brass were equally astonished after they were warned to allow peace to prevail during today’s demonstration against the undemocratic tendencies of the SLPP regime. Diplomatic sources have confirmed that Maada Bio’s hands were twisted to wake him up from slumber following the war-like deployment of well-armed police and military personnel in Freetown and other areas over the weekend. All suffering Sierra Leoneans must come out at 8 am today to protest. Do not be afraid. Bio’s security would not shoot. (Photo: Adebayor has called on all Sierra Leoneans to protest today against the barbaric Maada Bio).
This good news was further confirmed by Sierra Leone social media activist Mrsta Salone based in Ghana. But keen political observers are cautiously optimistic about the true intentions of mercurial Maada Bio. They believe Maada Bio’s previous records of mishandling and killing protesters are nothing good home to depend on. Nevertheless, the people of Sierra Leone have shown unique determination to go ahead with the protest starting today. It remains to be seen if the Inspector General of Sierra Leone Police William Fayia Sellu and the Chief of Defence Staff of the Armed Forces of Sierra Leone Military Lt General Patrick Lavahun will totally abide by the instructions given to them by the SLPP President. Whatever the situation, the people are determined to fight on for the restoration of Freedom, Justice, Equality, Unity, and Progress in Sierra Leone, a far cry from the disastrous five years of Maada Bio’s misrule. All suffering Sierra Leoneans must come out at 8 am today to protest. Do not be afraid. Bio’s security would not shoot. (Photos: SLPP soldiers and police deployed everywhere).

It would be a dream for peaceful protesters to demonstrate without experiencing any forms of harassment and intimidation from the gun-toting police and soldiers. Many innocent Sierra Leoneans have lost their lives unnecessarily since 2018 during demonstrations under the SLPP regime and for Maada Bio to make a sudden U-turn on the eve of the September 11 protest is suspicious and unreliable. But never say never where pressure from international partners is concerned. The demonstration will take place today because the people are tired and angry about the lack of freedom under the Bio regime. Sierra Leoneans are ready to liberate the country from five years of violence, tribalism, extra-judicial executions, hunger, etc. of Maada Bio’s regime. Presently, hundreds of well-armed soldiers and police have been deployed by Maada Bio ostensibly to send fear and terror among the protesters. All suffering Sierra Leoneans must come out at 8 am today to protest. Do not be afraid. Bio’s security would not shoot.
But no amount of mind games, intimidation, and harassment will deter the people from coming out today in full force to exercise their constitutional rights to protest against the June 24, 2023, fraudulent elections. Maada Bio has dug his own grave deeper to allow his state security to litter the streets of Freetown and other towns and cities. International observers who are in the country for a fact-finding mission on the fraudulent June 24, 2023 elections are horrified at the high level of security deployment. Sierra Leone is a democracy. It is not a war zone as Maada Bio is trying to do. And the people have the right to protest against bad politicians from all political parties. It beggars belief that the SLPP party is scared of protest even though they were ardent protesters when they were in opposition during the APC government of President Ernest Bai Koroma. Meanwhile, all businesses, big and petty traders, public transport, and others have been warned to shut their doors today and to take part in the protest to restore democracy. All suffering Sierra Leoneans must come out at 8 am today to protest. Do not be afraid. Bio’s security would not shoot.

Also, all patriotic protesters must be vigilant against any intruders found carrying weapons to cause chaos during the protest. Such bad people should be arrested and handed over to the police, the organisers have urged. Nothing should be taken lightly considering the despair within the SLPP colony because of the demonstrations. Bio’s agents have always accused the main opposition APC party of organising today’s demonstration but everyone knows that it was organised by the disgruntled people of Sierra Leone. Also, the angry protesters will remind the corrupt Chairman of the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone ECSL Mohamed Kenewui Konneh who stole the June 24, 2023 elections in favour of the incumbent Maada Bio to release the correct results ASAP. Meanwhile, national and international election observers are watching with keen interest. Sierra Leone’s leading social media activist Adebayor is leading the protest from Holland. All suffering Sierra Leoneans must come out at 8 am today to protest. Do not be afraid. Bio’s security would not shoot.
