Monrovia, the capital of Liberia, was overwhelmed when news spread that Jewel had been brutally discharged from the hospital and whisked off to Monrovia Central Prison, where she was remanded into custody awaiting trial for millions of drug trafficking charges. Jewel has denied all the charges.

The Liberian situation has tormented the heart of Sierra Leone’s illegal President Maada Bio, especially after his closest ally in the drug smuggling network was apprehended by the Liberian police in the aftermath of the United States intervention in the drug-busting ring. It is now obvious that Bio is the next highest-profile political crook going to be nabbed for the production, distribution and sale of dangerous drugs in Sierra Leone. The three US drug agencies, led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation FBI are en route to Freetown to probe.

The FBI agents eventually found serious links between Bio and Jewel. Sources say the two drug political smugglers are intrinsically linked like twins in the Don Corleone series Godfather blockbuster cocaine family.

How did the international investigators know that Bio is linked with Jewel? Top secret sources say it was when Bio was ambushed a few weeks ago in Freetown that the link between Bio and Jewel was discovered. Little did poor Bio know that new technology would expose him. The foreign agents had to surf iCloud and retrieve all Bio’s deleted messages, and wow, jackpot was hit. The number of contacts and incriminating information became vital to the FBI’s investigation.

Jewel’s name, the cocaine queen in Liberia, was top of the messages retrieved. From then on, constant surveillance was focused on Jewel until her recent arrest and detention for possession of millions of dollars’ worth of cocaine smuggling stuff was executed.

Poor Bio never knew the depth of the danger he had plunged himself into until Jewel was apprehended. Diplomatic sources say personnel from the US Department of Homeland Security DHS) and the Drug Enforcement Administration DEA have joined the FBI to probe the origin of the international drug trade. And Sierra Leone is the next stage of their investigation after Liberia.

Overnight, the Monrovia Central Prison hosted the highest-profile Liberian politician, Jewel Howard-Taylor, after her defence team, led by Laveli Supuwood, failed to convince the Monrovia City Court to allow their client to stay in hospital following health complications.
