Transition on Track: ECOWAS on the Verge of Losing Billions of Dollars from Global Partners for Wrongful Selection of Maada Bio

Quick Summary

The global community is closely watching the ECOWAS Commission with eagles’ eyes following the senseless selection of Sierra Leone’s illegal President Bio as chair.

Diplomatic sources say the development partners are not only watching from the sidelines to understand what transpired in Abuja, the headquarters of ECOWAS, but the international community is poised to put punitive financial measures in place against ECOWAS. Reports say the shocking selection of Sierra Leone’s illegal President Julius Maada Bio on Sunday, June 22, 2025, in Nigeria has sent the wrong signals to the global partners, which has undermined the genuineness of ECOWAS. The United Nations, EU, US, UK, and Commonwealth, etc, are unhappy with ECOWAS’ selection of an unfit Bio.

When it comes to democracy and the rule of law, the international community takes these noble norms very seriously, unlike the ECOWAS Commission, which continues to betray the tenets of democratic norms with the odd appointment of the murderer Maada Bio, a classic example.

Consequently, the corrupt ECOWAS commission is on the verge of missing out on billions of dollars of foreign funding because of the conspicuous blunder they made by senselessly selecting Maada Bio as chairman, a man whose credibility is below zero. (Photo: Tinubu disgraced ECOWAS after giving Bio the chair).

Especially in the last few days since the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, made the monumental mistake in appointing the unelected Sierra Leone President Bio as ECOWAS head to succeed the dodgy Nigerian President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

The embarrassment has reached a point where the European Union, on behalf of the international community, recently advised ECOWAS to sort out the chairmanship mess within two weeks; otherwise, punitive financial measures would be implemented against ECOWAS.

What is the measure being thought of by the EU? Reliable diplomatic sources have indicated that ECOWAS may face serious financial repercussions if Maada Bio’s embarrassing situation is not rectified within the next two-week deadline. (Photo: President-Elect Dr Samura Kamara will be sworn in very shortly).

This unusual move taken by the global partners through the EU has shown the seriousness with which they take the democratic Sierra Leone situation regarding the full implementation of the 85 recommendations of the Tripartite Investigations.

As a result, ECOWAS has informed Maada Bio about the 15-day ultimatum dished out by the EU in order to look into how ECOWAS ended up wrongfully selecting Maada Bio to such a high-profile position, even though his credentials are clearly below standard.

This tough financial stance being contemplated by the international community, through the European Union, against the hopeless ECOWAS Commission is an indication that the transition of power is irreversible and is on track. Bio stole the June 24, 2023, elections from Dr Samura Kamara, who said voters should wait a little longer.

ECOWAS Summit Update: Cocaine Bio is Scared of Handing the ECOWAS Chair to Senegal President Faye; Bio Prefers Anglophone to Francophone Successor!

The illegal Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio, who publicly stole the June 24, 2023 general and presidential elections, is a confused man today. Cocaine King Maada Bio is not only disoriented and jittery at this point when ECOWAS commissioners are in Freetown for the 69th summit, but Bio’s SLPP regime is entirely on the brink of causing more confusion within the ECOWAS commission. The illegitimate Sierra Leone President Bio is shamefully dragging his feet over the handing over of the ECOWAS chairmanship to the rightful individual, in the person of Senegalese President Bassirou Faye, who should have got it since last year when Bio bribed to get it. Diplomatic sources have hinted that Maada Bio, the current ECOWAS chairman who dubiously secured the position last year by bribing Nigerian President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, is not planning to transfer the ECOWAS chair to President Faye. ECOWAS leaders are expected in Freetown on July 19, 2026.

EBK’s Fake Freedom Won’t Distract EJ Win; His Arrest for Betraying Democracy Looms; Tinubu Happy to See EBK’s Back; Hope He Returns Sooner to Face Citizens

The fake freedom suspiciously arranged for Ernest Bai Koroma EBK is not only a fruitless distraction, but EBK’s immediate return will suit 2023 voters. It is a massive trump card indeed, especially for electoral justice campaigners who will eventually see judicial revenge for those who undermine the June 24, 2023, general and presidential elections. EBK is obviously the first accused and chief architect of selling the 2023 votes to his cocaine paymaster, Julius Maada Bio. That is why the dubious freedom dished out to cruel EBK by the electoral commander-in-thief Julius Maada Bio is wholeheartedly welcomed by electoral justice EJ fighters whose main ambition is to restore democracy and to put on trial the betrayers of the people’s mandate. At first glance, it is clear that EBK’s recent freedom, granted by the corrupt SLPP and APC parliamentarians, is a high-class trap for him. The dramatic overturning of the ridiculous treason charge against EBK in parliament, rather than in the High Court, is a monumental blunder, deception and distraction.
