How Can Bio Build the Lungi Bridge When the Exit Door Faces Him? USA Withheld $480M MCC; How Can the US Give $2B for the Bridge? No US Firm Will Deal With
These are pertinent questions which have answers that clearly negate the possibility of Julius Maada Bio having any financial support from the United States of America government.
The United States Trade and Development Agency USTDA can’t give grants to the illegitimate Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio to fully finance the construction of the Lungi Bridge. The US will not finance Bio’s illegal SLPP regime, knowing full well its undemocratic credentials. (Photo: How can a sleeping Fatima Bio make a deal at the UN?).
Failure: Bio is returning home from the United Nations General Assembly UNGA in New York with a big new lie. The SLPP media outlet Sierraloaded has reported that the SLPP Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh confirmed the Lungi Bridge feasibility study will start in November 2026.
After failing to get a single investment from the UNGA, the SLPP delegation is returning in disgrace with an empty portfolio. A brief report by the SLPP regime’s mouthpiece, Sierraloaded newspaper, yesterday quoted the SLPP Chief Minister Sengeh about the construction of the Lungi Bridge.
According to David Sengeh, the feasibility study will cost 1.6 million dollars to be financed by the United States Trade and Development Agency USTDA. The US-based Acrow Corporation in New York is expected to carry out the construction. (Photos: SLPP failures Sengeh, Bio, Rahman Swarray at the UN. And poor Fatima sleeping at the UN hall).

Information gathered so far shows that Bio is fibbing. Why is there no joint statement between Bio and USTDA? Sengeh’s story is doubtful. The construction firm Acrow initially refused to proceed with the construction of the Lungi Bridge under the Bio regime.
It all started with the SLPP regime initially approaching China for the erection of the Lungi Bridge. To impress President Trump, Bio moved away from China before the 2023 elections. But after Bio stole the election, the US government froze the contract worth around $2 billion.
Without democracy, the US will not work directly with the Bio regime. The Millennium Challenge Corporation MCC blocked the $480 million meant for the Bio presidency simply because democratic elections were undermined in Sierra Leone. The restoration of democracy is a must. It will happen anytime now.
The fact that no authentic pictures are shown of the so-called negotiation between Bio’s men and the USTDA, and no signatures are published, indicates that no meeting took place between the two parties for the Lungi Bridge. This is not a serious agreement. Bio must stop spreading more lies to his gullible people.
Also, the 1.6 million for the pre-feasibility study mentioned by the Sierra-loaded newspaper shows that it is a lie. Considering the astronomical sum involved, i.e. 2 billion dollars for the Lungi Bridge, the pre-feasibility study should cost far more than the meagre $1.6m. Sierra loaded News Reads – Lungi Bridge Feasibility Studies to Begin in November with US$1.6 Million USTDA Support
“Feasibility studies for Sierra Leone’s long-awaited Lungi Bridge are expected to begin in November 2026, with US$1.6 million in support from the United States Trade Development Agency USTDA, Chief Minister David Sengeh has announced.
“Sengeh disclosed the development after meeting representatives of US-based Acrow Corporation in New York during the 81st UNGA week. He said the meeting, which also involved National Investment Board Executive Director Dr Edward Hinga Sandy, focused on progress on the bridge project and the studies required in advance it.”

Feasibility Cost as a Percentage of Total Project Value, According to simplefeasibility.com
While the exact figures vary, a common rule of thumb in the industry is that a good feasibility study generally costs between 0.75% and 1.5% of the total project cost. For instance, a $10 million project might warrant a feasibility study costing between $75,000 and $150,000. This percentage reflects that the larger the overall investment, the greater the need for thorough due diligence to mitigate risk and secure funding. These ranges are indicative. Actual costs depend heavily on the specific project factors, which we will explore in the next section.
What Drives the Price: Key Factors Influencing Feasibility Study Costs
Several interconnected factors dictate the final feasibility study cost. Understanding these drivers is crucial for budgeting accurately and for evaluating the proposals you receive from consultants.
Project Complexity & Scope: The Core Determinant
The intricacy and breadth of your project are arguably the most significant cost drivers. Highly complex projects, such as multi-phase developments, ventures introducing new technologies, or those with diverse revenue streams, necessitate far more extensive analysis. For example, a simple retail store expansion is less complex than developing a mixed-use facility combining residential, commercial, and entertainment components, each with its own market dynamics and regulatory requirements. A broader scope, covering more dimensions (e.g., technical, market, financial, operational, legal, environmental), will naturally require more time, resources, and specialised expertise, directly increasing the cost.
