June 19 is Redemption Day Thanks to Global Partners, a Day When Sierra Leoneans Will See Unity, Freedom & Justice for All
Dr Samura Kamara’s exploits at the World Bank, at the International Monetary Fund IMF, and at the Commonwealth Secretariat when he was working there are excellent examples of his personal resume that the world bodies are still proud of. Not to mention Dr Samura Kamara’s invaluable tenure in three different governments in Sierra Leone, namely Captain Valentine Strasser’s NPRC military regime, President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah’s SLPP Govt and President Ernest Bai Koroma’s APC Govt.
The much awaited June 19–Redemption Day–is the date that citizens are expecting the Tripartite Committee to release the good news i.e. either the inauguration of Dr Samura Kamara as President or conduct fresh elections. Foreign experts are already in the country to usher democracy and the peoples’ mandate by carrying out the operational stage of Tripartite. From all over the world, electoral experts have been mandated to look into the fraudulent June elections which every external stakeholder has dubbed as unfair, not free, not credible, not transparent, not accountable and not peaceful.
The recruitment of the retired Kenyan Judge Justice Amraphael Mbogholl Msagha, as the legal expert heading the Tripartite Secretariat to oversee the Tripartite Committee is significant. It shows the seriousness at which the Tripartite is taken to restore the voters’ mandate of June 24, 2023. This is the same great Judge who was the head of the Investigating Team in Kenya that probed the electoral problems in the East African nation. After one year of investigations, Judge Amraphael Mbogholl Msagha overturned the elections results.
All these are clear indicators to show that Tripartite is working and the people of Sierra Leone should be rest assured that democracy will be restored on June 19 on Redemption Day, a day that will usher Unity, Freedom and Justice, the emblem of Sierra Leone. The people are pre-empting only two recommendations. First, that an inauguration of Dr Samura Kamara and secondly, fresh elections are conducted. That is why all patriotic Sierra Leoneans should be ready for Redemption Day on June 19. In fact, sources say, the recommendations will come even before June 19 on Redemption Day. Light is at the end of the tunnel.
