This is judgment day for the achievement of electoral justice in Sierra Leone. For the first time since the chaotic June 24, 2023 elections, this is the first time, in fact, shall be the last time that the Sierra Leone electorates have given the Chairman of the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone ECSL Mohamed Kenewui Konneh an ultimatum. The message in the ultimatum letter is straightforward and to the point. The one tribe Mende hegemonic ECSL commissioners have been asked to release last year’s elections disaggregated data by December 9, 2024 otherwise there will be a massive peaceful protest on December 10, 2024 onwards until positive results are achieved.

Up to press time, the ECSL commissioners have bluntly refused to produce the disaggregated elections data to authenticate the victory or defeat of the incumbent Julius Maada Bio and the APC leader Dr Samura Kamara vice versa. Since then, the country is at a standstill, completely bankrupt, thus plunging the once democratic nation into a tyranny as well as into the current socio-economic quagmire and hardship that is affecting the majority of Sierra Leoneans than ever before. This is due to the financial and economic embargo imposed on Bio illegal presidency by the global community.

Concern Sierra Leoneans have confirmed that all foreign embassies stationed in Freetown have received their own letters concerning the peaceful protest being organised against the ECSL commissioners who are yet to make public last year’s elections results especially the disaggregated data to show the districts by districts vote counts.

Also, the organisers of the peaceful protests Concern Sierra Leoneans have confirmed that the letter has been forwarded to officials of the Economic Community of West African States ECOWAS who are scheduled to meet on the 11 December, 2024, a day before the slated peaceful protest is to take place in Sierra Leone. ECOWAS heads of states are to meet on December 15 in Abuja. The timing is very convenient for the peaceful protesters but apparently the illegal Bio presidency is at the moment very jittery. Moreover, prominent people in Sierra Leone are expected to come out to join the December 10 peaceful protests if the corrupt ECSL Commissioners refused to comply with the demand.

The release of the disaggregated data by the corrupt ECSL Chief Returning Officer Mohamed Konneh is a must by the deadline given otherwise well-coordinated protests will follow until the demands of the voters are met. The organisers are therefore advising every protester to wear black and white attires only. No red or green colours, please. And only placards and posters are allowed on protest day.
