Ex-President Koroma Receives ECOWAS, AU, EU, and Commonwealth Delegates in Makeni
Quick Summary
The former Sierra Leone President Koroma wholeheartedly welcomed the guests of the international community to his hometown of Makeni City.
This historic visit was in continuation of the fact-finding mission by delegates from the Commonwealth, African Union, ECOWAS, and European Union into the circumstances leading up to the chaotic June 24, 2023, general and presidential elections in Sierra Leone. APC Media social media activist Andrew Kamara reports from Sweden – We want to bring you up to speed on recent developments. The meetings were held on September 7, 2023, involving representatives from the Commonwealth, ECOPWAS, and AU and the recent visits to the residence of former President Ernest Bai Koroma in Makeni. It was conducted on a fact-finding mission and engagement efforts regarding the credibility of the June 24 election results in Sierra Leone. These findings align with reports from the European Union observer mission, the Carter Centre, and other foreign sources as well as the National Elections Watch NEW led by Madam Marcella Samba, all of which indicate that the election results do not accurately represent the will of the Sierra Leone people.
The SLPP vuvuzelas are spreading false information that the foreign visitors have held dialogue with the APC and SLPP officials. To put the records straight, the APC media reiterates thus: “However, we want to make it crystal clear that the planned dialogue between the Bio and the APC leadership, facilitated by the Commonwealth, ECOWAS, and the African Union is scheduled to commence between late September and early October 2023. Please disregard any misleading information suggesting that ongoing dialogues are already underway. Stay tuned for further updates.”
