Unsurprisingly, during his address at the conference, EBK never mentioned, let alone endorsed, the tripartite agreement signed on October 18, 2023, by APC leader Dr Samura Kamara, SLPP Chief Minister Dr David Sengeh, and Madam Seraphine Wakana for the UN on behalf of the global partners. EBK has done so much harm since 2018.

But immediately after Dr Leonardo Santos Simão, Special Representative of the Secretary-General to the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel UNOWAS & Chair of the Cameroon-Nigeria Mixed Commission, spoke about the 2023 elections, things changed. EBK and the bad APC leadership panicked.

Dr Santos Simão had advised those present in the Bintumani Hall to follow the 2023 elections in order to strengthen the democratic journey in Sierra Leone. Unsurprisingly, EBK did an automatic merry-go-round a few days after the UNOWAS boss had spoken. Most Sierra Leoneans think EBK is playing the hypocrite.

It was a big surprise when citizens who had started doubting the tripartite agreement suddenly heard EBK advising that the tripartite agreement is the best way forward to bring democracy to Sierra Leone. He said tripartite recommendations must be implemented in full. Why now, Mr EBK?

EBK is today calling on the key internal stakeholders to fully implement the tripartite, adding that delays may threaten credible future elections. EBK made this shockingly surprising statement on Liberty TV recently, supporting the tripartite agreement for national unity.

Since that tripartite endorsement by EBK, Sierra Leoneans have been left baffled as to why EBK has decided to support the tripartite this time, something he had not done before. The 2023 voters are wondering what’s up? Why has EBK decided to believe in the tripartite today?

Was it because he had been briefed by the UNOWAS Chief, Dr Simão, that the true direction for Sierra Leone’s democracy is a tripartite agreement? It is now understood that EBK is leading the peace talks after having realised that the 2023 election is not done and dusted.

It remains to be seen whether the suffering people of Sierra Leone, who are in the majority, will believe the latest position taken by the devil incarnate Ernest Koroma on the tripartite agreement. The hypocrite EBK had been a fierce tripartite critic. Why the sudden change? In fact, the tripartite has already succeeded.
