These negative vibes have been compounded by the emergence of the latest kidnappings planned by the chief bodyguard of the illegal President Julius Maada Bio, called Rambo, who is protected at the Presidential Lodge following the recent Mile 91 kidnap incident. Sources say the victim, named only as Mohamed, a businessman, had been monitored by the kidnappers for sometimes now until he was recently forced into the bandits’ vehicle by heavily armed kidnappers led by the notorious Rambo and then whisked to the Mile 91 environ.

Rambo, Maada Bio’s personal protection officer, was not apprehended by the police, but his name, Rambo, surfaced after his accomplices were arrested and handcuffed. The week, social media vigilance exposed how the latest victim of Rambo’s human kidnapping, Mr Mohamed, narrowly escaped death by jumping through the roof and raised an alarm by shouting, alerting neighbours, including police in the vicinity. The police had tracked Mohamed’s mobile phone signals.

This latest kidnapping happened amid the disappearance of mostly teenagers in recent times. Moreover, the bankruptcy derived from the financial and economic sanctions imposed on Bio’s regime by the international community following the fraudulent 2023 elections has strangulated the Bio.

Therefore, the 2023 electorate has shown more optimism today for the restoration of democracy in Sierra Leone than ever before because the 84 plus 1 tripartite recommendations have provided the perfect platform for the President-elect, Dr Samura Kamara, to take power shortly. The sole salvation to return to normalcy in Sierra Leone is Dr Samura Kamara, the people’s choice in the June 2023 elections. Amid the misrule and barbarism of the Bio’s presidency, there is the dubious role played in the cocaine trade led by Europe’s most wanted drug lord, Johannes Leijdekkers, aka Bolle Jos, who has sought refuge in Sierra Leone, and he is also the son-in-law, married to Bio’s eldest daughter, Agnes Bio. Bolle Jos has been the main financial sponsor of the bankrupt Bio regime. But freedom is imminent.
