GOOF: King Adebayor Was Not Elected as CEO by Concerned Sierra Leoneans Worldwide in Munich
Quick Summary
A part of yesterday’s piece titled ‘48 Hours in Munich Retreat as Concerned Sierra Leoneans Worldwide Elect King Adebayor as CEO’ was inaccurate.
The Organiser newspaper reported that Concerned Sierra Leoneans Worldwide elected the social media activist King Adebayor (real name Mr Abdul Will Kamara) as the new Chief Executive Officer CEO. The piece was an unintentional error. It was a serious mistake to publish the part that reported that King Adebayor was elected as CEO of CSLW during the Munich Retreat on Saturday, November 25, 2023. Additionally, it was a goof to report in the said publication that King Adebayor is the NEW CEO of CSLW. Because, naturally when one finds an organisation, the founder is normally the CEO. Though King Adebayor was not elected as CEO, by virtue of him being the founder and brain behind the formation of the franchise called Concerned Sierra Leoneans Worldwide, Adebayor is automatically the CEO. Unless, of course, King Adebayor unilaterally decides not to take up the CEO portfolio. In such a case, other competent members of CSLW will vie for the post in an election in the near or distant future. Hopefully, disgruntled colleagues will forgive the publisher for this mistake rather than pick bones and will not use this erratum to unleash personal attacks for selfish gains. While the CEO report was obviously not deliberate, it was a bad mistake and has regrettably caused great discomfort to the entire membership. This error fully deserved an apology even though this newspaper does not run apologies with every correction or clarification. It is obvious I wrote the piece but the apology in the Organiser newspaper is a collective responsibility. It is in this vein that this newspaper is wholeheartedly apologising to all members of CSLW who are offended by yesterday’s publication. As our social media guru, Imran T rightly noted last night, I inadvertently published the misjudged article. I am sorry for any upset caused. As democrats, the CSLW is expected to avoid dictatorship which we are all fighting to eliminate. Thank you.
